The 2015 Mega-Tins will be here soon, offering a second chance at some great cards from previous booster sets, but this year each Mega-Tin also has a brand new card to go with its Mega-Packs and other promos!

Each Mega-Tin covers half of the card types that you can Special Summon from your Extra Deck. The Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon Mega-Tin takes care of Xyz and Synchro Monsters. You get Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon and Castel the Skyblaster Musketeer, two useful Rank 4 Xyz Monsters that you can use in any Deck, but you also get the brand new Old Entity Hastorr—a 2300 ATK Level 4 Synchro Monster!

At 2300 ATK, Hastorr ties with The Fabled Unicore for “highest ATK Level 4 Synchro Monster,” but it beats Unicore out in terms of ease of use because you don’t need any specific Tuners or non-Tuners to use it...any will work! Hastorr’s job is to keep attacking until your opponent is forced to play one of their best monsters to beat it, and when they do, Hastorr’s true power is awakened!

If Hastorr goes from a Monster Zone to the Graveyard for any reason, it equips to one of your opponent’s monsters, negating its effects and preventing it from attacking. If your opponent tries to free their monster by destroying Hastorr, you get to take control of the monster instead with all its effects and abilities reactivated!

Hastorr is especially useful with the Synchro combos we talked about last week. Specifically, you’ll want to use it as your Level 4 Synchro Monster in our first turn Stardust Warrior combo, because when you Synchro Summon with Hastorr and Accel Synchron, you’ll get to equip Hastorr to your opponent’s monster! You can follow up with something like Parallel Twister to send Hastorr back to the Graveyard again while destroying any card on the field, and the end result will be that you have Stardust Warrior, your opponent’s best monster, and you’ll have destroyed a card that might have otherwise stopped your grand combo!
