Breakers of Shadow Sneak Peek!

With these cards, your opponents will be shadows of themselves!

By John Bae January 07, 2016

The Breakers of Shadow Sneak Peek weekend kicks off on January 9th and/or 10th at hundreds of venues across the globe! Want to know what to look for? We’ve got you covered with a look at the hottest new cards!

Cyber Dragon Infinity’s a Rank 6 Xyz Monster you can Xyz Summon by using just Cyber Dragon Nova by itself as Xyz Material. With 2100 ATK to start, Infinity gains 200 Attack Points for every Xyz Material it has. Once per turn, you can take another Attack Position monster and attach it to Cyber Dragon Infinity as material—even one of your opponent’s monsters. You can also detach an Xyz Material to negate the activation of a card or effect, and destroy it. One combo is to overlay two Rank 4s to Xyz Summon Crossed SoulsTellarknight Ptolemaeus, then use its abilities to Special Summon the Rank 5 Cyber Dragon Nova and use that to bring out Cyber Dragon Infinity!

The Quick-Play Spell Card Twin Twisters lets you discard a card to destroy up to two Spell/Trap Cards on the field. A two-for-two trade that blows away your opponent’s defenses or their Pendulum Scale is always a good deal, but you can make it even better by pitching cards with Graveyard effects, like Performage Damage Juggler.

Traptrix Rafflesia’s an amazing new Rank 4 Xyz Monster that you can Summon with any two Level 4s. It’s unaffected by Trap effects while it has Xyz Material, and it keeps your other “Traptrix” monsters safe from destruction and targeting. Better yet, Rafflesia’s effect lets you use any Normal Trap with “Hole” in the name, directly from your Deck, once per turn. When the timing’s right, just detach an Xyz Material from Rafflesia and send a Trap like Time-Space Trap Hole or Traptrix Trap Hole Nightmare straight from your Deck to the Graveyard, and Rafflesia mimics the Trap Card’s effect!

And to round out our list, Solemn Strike is an amazing new Counter Trap that negates a Special Summon or monster effect, then destroys the monster. It costs 1500 LP to activate, which is an amazing deal for a card that can stop virtually anything your opponent throws at you. Don’t wanna pay the cost? Combo it with the new Guiding Ariadne Pendulum Monster to play it for free—along with the rest of your other Counter Traps!

Breakers of Shadow unleashes a record number of amazing new cards to power up your Decks, so don’t miss the Sneak Peek weekend on January 9th and/or January 10th!
