Clash of Rebellions Is Coming!

Be a rebel with these Pendulum Summoning stoppers!

By Urian Brown July 23, 2015

Clash of Rebellions is still a few weeks away, but you can start playing with 2 cards from Clash of Rebellions right now thanks to the Crossed Souls Advance Edition! Each Advance Edition has a foil version of a card from a future set, Clash of Rebellions in this case, that’s legal for play right now!

Wavering Eyes is a great tool for Pendulum Summoning strategies and anti-Pendulum Summoning strategies alike! It’s a Quick-Play Spell that destroys every card in both players’ Pendulum Zones, and then does different things depending on how many were destroyed. Destroying 1 card will deal 500 damage to your opponent. Taking out 2 also lets you search your Deck for any Pendulum Monster Card–a hugely powerful interaction in Pendulum strategies!

If 3 Pendulum cards are destroyed, in addition to the damage and the search, you also get to banish any card on the field—a big reward for giving up just one of your own Pendulum cards, one that you can quickly search for another copy of with the rest of your Wavering Eyes effect. And if you make a clean sweep of the field, taking out cards from all 4 Pendulum Zones, you also get to add another copy of Wavering Eyes from your Deck to your hand to do it all again in the future!

Red Dragons

Clash of Rebellions brings back Joey’s Red-Eyes B. Dragon strategy in a big way, but you can get started on building your new Red-Eyes Deck right now with Return of the Red-Eyes! Return of the Red-Eyes works great with cards like Paladin of Dark Dragon from Dragons of Legend 2. You can Summon the Paladin, Tribute it to Summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from your Deck, use it to revive the Paladin, then set Return of the Red-Eyes so you can Summon 2 monsters from the Graveyard each turn–any Dragon for Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, and any Normal Monster with Return of the Red-Eyes!

Return of the Red-Eyes is tough to destroy because if your opponent does destroy it, you get to Summon any “Red-Eyes” monster from your Graveyard, which can mean starting up another huge Summoning chain thanks to Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon. You can even add Return of the Red-Eyes to your hand with the second effect of Dark Dragon Ritual to get it more reliably!

Crossed Souls Advance Edition is here right now, so you can start playing with these cards while you wait for Clash of Rebellions to arrive on August 7th!
