Yosenju in The Secret Forces are beastly successors to the “Spirit” monsters of old!

The new monster theme Yosenju in The Secret Forces are beastly successors to the “Spirit” monsters of old—cards that were world renowned for their power to devastate and then become untouchable by returning to the hand before your opponent could get a turn!

COMBOS!

COMBO #1
There are two basic combos you want to be aware of when building a Yosenju Deck. The first is the combination of Yosenju Kama 1, Yosenju Kama 2 and Yosenju Kama 3. If you assemble them all in your hand, which is fairly easy to do thanks to Fire Formation – Tenki (also available in The Secret Forces), you’ll be able to Summon all of them in the same turn.

Yosenju Kama 1 kicks a face-up card back to your opponent’s hand, Yosenju Kama 2’s attacks can bypass monsters entirely and Yosenju Kama 3 lets you add a Yosenju card from your Deck to your hand when another Yosenju inflicts battle damage. At the end of the turn, all three return to your hand or you can use them for an Xyz Summon.

COMBO #2
The second basic combo is Yosenju Shinchu R, Yosenju Shinchu L and Mayosenju Daibak. The first two are Pendulum Monsters with Pendulum Scales 3 and 5. Normally you’d only be able to Pendulum Summon Level 4 monsters with those Scales, which is fine if you’re just Summoning the Yosenju Kama monsters. But with R and L together, you can raise R’s Pendulum Scale all the way to 11, making it possible to Pendulum Summon the Level 10 Mayosenju Daibak!

You want to Summon Mayosenju Daibak as early and often as possible. If you Normal or Special Summon it, you can return two cards on the field to their owner’s hand. You’re only allowed to Special Summon it by Pendulum Summoning, but its Pendulum Summon can’t be negated. Finally, it returns to your hand at the end of the turn if it was Special Summoned, so you can just Pendulum Summon it over and over! Even destroying Daibak won’t stop its rampage because it’ll just go to the Extra Deck where it can still be Pendulum Summoned.

Don’t forget that Yosenju actually originally debuted in Secrets of Eternity! Yosenju Magat and Yosenju Tsujik from Secrets of Eternity will fit right into any Yosenju Deck, so don’t forget about them!
