Pendulum Tuner!

Clash of Rebellions introduces Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer, a Level 4 Dragon-Type Pendulum Tuner Monster!

Ygo Pendulum Tuneup 1Synchro Summoning with Pendulum Monsters is one of the strongest strategies available. Because Pendulum Monsters on the field go to your Extra Deck if they would be sent to the Graveyard and can be Pendulum Summoned back later, in the long run, each Synchro Summon you make only costs you the Tuner you use for it, since there are no natural Pendulum Tuner Monsters. At least, there weren’t any until now!

Clash of Rebellions introduces Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer, a Level 4 Dragon-Type Pendulum Tuner Monster! It has a Pendulum Scale of 5, and its Pendulum Effect lets you load up your Extra Deck with Pendulum Monsters without having to give up the ability to Pendulum Summon. Once per turn, Luster Pendulum can destroy the card in your other Pendulum Zone, sending it to your Extra Deck. If you do that, you get to add another copy of that card from your Deck to your hand! Every time you pull this ability off, you’ll increase the reach of your Pendulum Summons by one monster. But be careful because not all monsters are compatible with this ability!

You don’t want to use Level 5 monsters with Luster Pendulum because you won’t be able to Summon them back due to Luster Pendulum’s Scale of 5. Ideally, you want Level 4 and lower monsters with a Pendulum Scale lower than their own Level, and fortunately, Clash of Rebellions is full of them! The Igknights range from Level 3 to Level 6 and have Pendulum Scales of either 2 or 7. Use the low-Level Igknights Igknight Crusader and Igknight Paladin, with a Scale of 2, to get the most out of Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer. You may also want to use Igknight Templar even though it has a Scale of 7 just because Level 4 Pendulum Monsters are the most important cards to play alongside Luster Pendulum!

The catch for having a Pendulum Tuner monster is that as a monster, it can only be used for the Synchro, Xyz and Fusion Summons of other “Dracoslayer” monsters. The matching Synchro Monster, Ignister Prominence, the Blasting Dracoslayer, is so good that you probably won’t mind Summoning it a whole lot!

Ignister Prominence is a Level 8, 2850 ATK, Dragon-Type Synchro Monster. You Summon it with any Tuner and one or more non-Tuner monsters. It has two abilities: you can Summon a “Dracoslayer” monster from your Deck (but you can’t use it for a Synchro Summon while that monster is face-up on the field), and you can destroy any Pendulum Monster on the field or any card in a Pendulum Zone (if you do, you shuffle a card on the field back into the Deck). So you can Summon another copy of Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer from your Deck, then immediately kick it to the Extra Deck while shuffling any other card on the field back into the Deck. Then, the next time you Pendulum Summon, you can get both copies of Luster Pendulum back without the “no Synchro” restriction!

Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer and Ignister Prominence, the Blasting Dracoslayer are sure to be huge parts of any strategy with Pendulum Monsters, so check them out in Clash of Rebellions, available now!
