Shaddolls expand their reach in The New Challengers to include FIRE and EARTH El Shaddoll Fusion Monsters and a brand new way to fuse monsters together. The Shaddoll strategy lives and dies by how many quality Fusion Summons it can make, so El Shaddoll Shekhinaga, El Shaddoll Grysta, and El Shaddoll Fusion are vital new additions! 

Each El Shaddoll Fusion Monster is created by fusing a Shaddoll with a monster of a certain Attribute. El Shaddoll Shekhinaga needs an EARTH Attribute monster, like Mathematician or Glow-Up Bulb. It’s ATK and DEF are huge, and it can negate the effects of Special Summoned monsters and destroy them by discarding a “Shaddoll” card from your hand.  It’s perfect for overpowering opponent’s monsters and preventing them from getting back into the game with powerful monster effects that shuffle your cards back into the Deck instead of destroying them.

El Shaddoll Grysta can just keep Special Summoned monsters off the field altogether. Like Shekhinaga, you can discard a “Shaddoll” card to use its effect, but instead of negating effects, Grysta negates Special Summons! You can stop Xyz, Synchro, and Pendulum Summons from even happening, but you’ll need to fuse a Shaddoll with a FIRE monster to do it. Shaddoll Core, from Duelist Alliance, can take the place of any Attribute of monster for an El Shaddoll Fusion Summon, but you can also do a neat combo with Vulcan the Divine from the Legendary Collection 5D’s Mega-Packs to Summon it – if you’ve got El Shaddoll Fusion!

El Shaddoll Fusion works just like Polymerization, except it’s a Quick-Play Spell that only works with “El Shaddoll” Fusion Monsters. Because it’s a Quick-Play, you can Chain it to other card effects or use it during the Battle Phase after all your monsters have attacked to make a new monster to attack with. Vulcan the Divine is a FIRE monster, so when you Synchro Summon it, you can activate its effect to return a card on each side of the field to the hand, targeting itself and your opponent’s best card. Then, Chain El Shaddoll Fusion to that effect. The end result? Your opponent’s card goes away, and instead of being left with an empty field, you get to fuse Vulcan with a Shaddoll to Summon El Shaddoll Grysta!
