Spark Your Game!

"Respark" your dueling game and take it to another level!

By John Bae March 19, 2015

One of the most exciting things about the various Yu-Gi-Oh! manga and animated series are the incredible ways that the protagonists escape certain defeat. Whether it be a clever combo or an ultimate trump card, it’s hard not to get excited when a Duel is turned completely on its head!

Stardust Re-Spark is a Trap Card that you activate when your opponent attacks you directly with a Special Summoned monster that has more Attack Points than you have Life Points. Instead of losing the Duel, you get to negate the attack instead, draw one card and Special Summon a “Stardust” monster from your Extra Deck or Graveyard! It’s a variation on the popular Starlight Road Trap Card that turns mass destruction effects into a free Stardust Dragon for the Duelist who activated Starlight Road.

One thing that’s changed since the release of Starlight Road is that there’s a new “Stardust” Synchro Monster in town: Stardust Spark Dragon. Stardust Re-Spark isn’t limited to just Summoning Stardust Dragon, making it much easier to get back into the game after resolving Re-Spark. Because you don’t Tribute Stardust Spark Dragon to activate its effect and it also protects against battle, you won’t run into the problem of immediately losing your Dragon and not being able to get it back. That puts you in a much better position when your turn rolls around, giving you a high-ATK monster that can protect itself or an important part of your own combos!

The activation condition on Stardust Re-Spark might seem a little strict, but much like the equally strict Starlight Road, that condition is met far more than you might think. The vast majority of all Duels these days end in a direct attack from a Special Summoned monster, so having a copy of Stardust Re-Spark in your Deck can lead to more wins in those 50-50 Duels that could go either way.

You can turn the tables on your opponent with Stardust Re-Spark when Premium Gold: Return of the Bling launches on Friday, March 20!
