Star Power!

You'll be dancing with the stars when World Superstars hits the stores April 17th!

One of the big draws of World Superstars is that it explores strategies from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal anime that didn't get much overall screen time, like Chronomaly and Star Seraph. Star Seraph, in particular, is the benefactor of three brand-new cards that add unparalleled Summoning and card drawing power to the theme!

Star Seraphs were used on TV by the Barian Emperor, Dumon. They’re a strategy based on assembling three Level 4 monsters on the field to use in an Xyz Summon. Rank 4 Xyz Monsters that require three Materials tend to be extremely powerful, but quickly drain your hand of monsters, making it difficult to recover if your monster is destroyed. The new Star Seraph Scepter, Star Seraph Sovereignty and Star Seraph Scale help you to field the required monsters for your Xyz Summons and help refill your hand when you Xyz Summon! To make the best use of them, you may want to make sure to add Star Seraph Scout (from Judgment of the Light) to your Deck as well. Its ability to Special Summon a Star Seraph from your hand will help enormously!

Star Seraph Scepter lets you add a Star Seraph from your Deck to your hand when it’s Normal or Special Summoned. It also lets you destroy a card on the field and draw one card if you use it as an Xyz Material for a monster with three or more Materials. Star Seraph Sovereignty can be Special Summoned if you Normal or Special Summon a Star Seraph. If you Special Summon it this way, you get to draw one card, which you can also Special Summon if it happens to be another Star Seraph. Finally, if you Special Summon Star Seraph Scale, you can Special Summon another Star Seraph from your hand and then put a LIGHT monster from your Graveyard on top of your Deck. Using Star Seraph Scale as Xyz Material for an Xyz Monster that has three or more Materials gives that Xyz Monster the ability to let you draw a card every time a monster is Special Summoned from the hand.

With a hand of Star Seraph Scout, Star Seraph Sovereignty and either Star Seraph Scepter or Star Seraph Scale, you can quickly assemble three monsters on the field and then refill your hand. But what you might not realize right away is that you can still play three monsters, draw three cards, and destroy one card on the field, even if you only have Star Seraph Scepter and Star Seraph Sovereignty

But how is that possible? Simple. First, Normal Summon Star Seraph Scepter. This lets you activate the effects of both Scepter and the Sovereignty in your hand. Use Scepter’s effect to add a second Sovereignty to your hand, and claim your free draw from the first Sovereignty when you Summon it. If you happen to draw another Star Seraph that way, great! If not, because a Star Seraph was Summoned during the previous Chain, you can activate the effect of the Star Seraph Sovereignty you searched out before and Special Summon it, drawing a second card. Now you have three Level 4 monsters, so Xyz Summon your favorite Rank 4 monster that takes three or more Xyz Materials and activate its effect to destroy a card on the field and draw your third extra card of the turn!

This combination is so strong that it’s easy to use even outside of a Star Seraph Deck. If you’re looking for some strong LIGHT monsters, or cards that can help you Xyz Summon, give the new Star Seraphs from World Superstars a shot on April 17th!
