Cover
by Kato Kazue
Hopefully this cover "Blue" you away like it did me! It's actually one of my favorite pieces of Blue Exorcist key art. And that's saying something, considering this series has some of the best color art out of all our titles. Kazue Sensei's definitely got a knack for creating bold, beautiful color spreads and splash pages.

Blue Exorcist
by Kato Kazue
Just when you think things couldn't get worse the story takes yet another dark turn! Izumo's been trying to tame the Nine Tails, but the insidious (and repulsive!) Professor Gedoin's doing all he can to stop her. And it looks like he's winning. Even if Rin and classmates make it in time, will they be able to undo what the evil Professor's done?

One Piece
by Eiichiro Oda
Major Traflagar Law flashback! And if you think other character's have had it rough, his childhood will seriously bring you down. It also explains a bit of his complicated relationship with Doflamingo!

World Trigger
by Daisuke Ashihara
With the anime just starting, it looks like Ashihara Sensei has been really busy. I only mention that because the art in this chapter is a little rough around the edges. One of the benefits of being simultaneous with Japan is we get the manga as fast as they do. One of the downsides is sometimes the weekly publishing cycle can get a little too hectic and that's when you see chapters like this. But don't worry! It will be fixed for the graphic novels—you can count on that! And it was still an amazing chapter, too! Especially the stunning ending!

Nisekoi
by Naoshi Komi
In a shocking turn of events, Raku's not actually in a pickle in this chapter—Shu is! And not from the usual shenanigans he pulls, because a girl asks HIM out for a date! You'll never believe what he says!

Naruto
by Masashi Kishimoto
It looks like a big fight between Sasuke and Naruto is inevitable. But Naruto's going for one last attempt at talking some sense into Sasuke! And when he hears why Sasuke wants to be Hokage, let's just say the difference between them has never been more obvious.

Sporting Salt
by Yuta Kubota
One of the best things about manga is it can teach you lots of stuff. And I don't just mean life lessons like trying hard and never giving up, it can teach you lots of trivia and neat facts. I am a person who really enjoys learning random things. And Sporting Salt has been teaching me quite a bit about athletics! This is the last chapter of our JUMP START sample run. Hopefully, you enjoyed getting a glimpse of some of the new titles staring in Japan.

Toriko
by Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro
If you thought the Octo-Melon was a crack up, wait until you see the new form of transportation in this chapter. It's gonna kill ya. And it might just kill Toriko as well! Looks like Komatsu's life is stable, but not for long. The only thing that can save him is the next item on Acacia's Menu! Looks like it's time for Toriko and crew to meet the next of the Eight Kings!

Bleach
by Tite Kubo
Just when it seemed there may be a chance for stopping Yhwach, or at least his henchmen, he shows the Soul Society why he should be feared!

Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign
story by Takaya Kagami, art by Yamato Yamamoto, storyboards by Daisuke Furuya
Before the big fight with the vampire nobles, Guren decides to test his new recruits with a little friendly match. Although Yuichiro and his squad are all armed with Black Demon Cursed Gear, they're going up against one of the stongest members of the Japanese Demon Imperial Army. Will they surprise Guren, or will they find out just how unprepared they are for the upcoming skirmish?

One-Punch Man
story by ONE, art by Yusuke Murata
Why did the chicken cross the road? Because the chicken's name was King and he was running away from a fight! King is supposedly the world's strongest hero, but he's actually a coward and has no idea who's been fighting his battles for him. When Saitama tracks him down to his apartment, he discovers some shocking things about "the world's strongest hero."

Death Note
story by Tsugumi Ohba, art by Takeshi Obata
We recently started our JUMP START iniative to give you a taste of new manga from Japan, and now we're doing a JUMP BACK promo to showcase some of our classic series like Death Note. These JUMP BACK spotlights will happen throughout the year, and feature several chapters from the manga. If you've never read it, this will give you a chance take a look at a manga you may have missed. And if you're read it before, you'll probably get all kinds of warm and fuzzy feelings from seeing it again. I know I did. Especially seeing Ryuk's big goofy face again!

Extras: Takeshi Obata at NYCC feature, Takeshi Obata Sweepstakes, Death Note Universe Feature, Japanese Editor Picks fearture, Nihongo Lesson, Yu-Gi-Oh! Promo Feature.
