Which series should be added to WSJ Alpha?

Submitted by dUsTeAtEr on Mon, 01/30/2012 - 14:26

I'm dissapointed that Reborn! isn't being added or even continuing its graphic novel releases. Hunter x Hunter is another series deserving to be added.

Monthly series are being ignored as well - Tegami Bachi, Claymore, D. Gray-Man, Blue Exorcist, and Ultimo should show up once a month (or with Ultimo's case, once every 3 months, now that it's switching magazines and getting slower releases). Simultaneous releases of these monthly series would be awesome!

Which series do you think needs to be added to the magazine?

I havn't read Hunter x Hunter but I like other works by the auther so I would like to try it out. It would be nice to have a once a month special.

I'd like to see Hunter X Hunter also.

fourth!

Gintama first, then Hunter x Hunter. I'm totally down with that.

Loved Barrage, by the way.

Submitted by Aaronrules380 on Mon, 01/30/2012 - 15:07

In order from most want to see to least
1. Hunter x Hunter
2. Gintama
3. Sket Dance
4 Beelzebub
5. Magico

The rest I couldn't care less about

I really want to see Medaka Box, it's one of my favorites.

Submitted by Jgigmaster@gmail.com on Mon, 01/30/2012 - 15:17

Oh yes, I'd like to see that one too. But I'd like that to be caught up first though.

Submitted by kiba153@hotmail.com on Mon, 01/30/2012 - 15:24

That's a good idea, it gets kinda complicated.

Submitted by willhernandez65... on Mon, 01/30/2012 - 15:29

Honestly Hunter X Hunter deserves to be in alpha the most. (Not including the ones already in) It just needs more exposure. Id also like Harisugawa in Mirror World

Submitted by Aaronrules380 on Mon, 01/30/2012 - 15:34

I'd agree with this, though the problem is Togashi's extended and frequent Hiatuses, and the fact that at times his art in weekly releases has been nothing more than scribbles on a page. That said, HxH is an absolutely fantastic series and despite the 12 year old protagonist, its probably the darkest manga in the magazine right now and I don't mean in a angsty, Naruto type of way either

Submitted by vivacmpunker on Mon, 01/30/2012 - 15:32

Definitely Hunter X Hunter.

Submitted by thegamemanic on Mon, 01/30/2012 - 15:42

I would love to see Sket dance show up since it doesn't have an american manga liscense and the anime is on crunchyroll. I really want an english release of this series even if it is digital

Submitted by kiba153@hotmail.com on Mon, 01/30/2012 - 15:49

D.Gray-Man & Kekkaishi

Submitted by susakeshadow on Mon, 01/30/2012 - 16:02

That would be cool but Kekkaishi is already ended

Submitted by Primo on Mon, 01/30/2012 - 16:07

Hunter x hunter Because one piece needs some actual competition in sja

Submitted by bydmangaka@gmail.com on Mon, 01/30/2012 - 16:12

Gintama, although it's unlikely we'll ever see it again, but I've been crossing my fingers since August that we'd get another volume.

I know I'm alone here, but I want anything from the 80's and 90's too, City Hunter especially. As for the current stuff, Hunter X Hunter would be nice just to get the new volumes faster *nudge nudge to Viz*

A gag or romance series would be nice, but that's doubtful =/

Submitted by nmanrules@gmail.com on Mon, 01/30/2012 - 16:30

I would like to see Kochikame.

Submitted by Aaronrules380 on Mon, 01/30/2012 - 16:32

I doubt we'd ever get that. In fact, has Viz even translated any of it? Because getting up to speed on over 100 volumes of material to put it in here would be hard. I suppose they might have time though as the seires will never end until the writer dies at this rate

Submitted by nmanrules@gmail.com on Mon, 01/30/2012 - 16:37

Good point. But I wouldn't mind starting at chapter 1. I know they never published it. Maybe I will buy some in Japanese next time I go to new york city I will buy some in japanese. That won't be for years though. :)

I would really like to see reborn in the magazine. I mean it is popular and this would also allow for more volumes to be printed for people who have waited very patiently (Like Me!!) . I also say Hunter X Hunter despite if it goes into hiatus.

Submitted by sldy93 on Tue, 01/31/2012 - 21:14

Reborn! too many readers probably just saw it as a silly gag manga but it's been really cool lately! Give it another chance!!!!

Submitted by Somnus on Tue, 01/31/2012 - 21:30

I think that Reborn might just not be as popular in America as in Japan. On the flip side, Psyren got WAY more popular here than it was in Japan. It actually got cancelled due to lack of reader support in Japan, but was allowed to finish its story, albeit in a somewhat rushed fashion. It was meant to be a sampler in USA, but positive and overwhelming reader response here got it bumped up to a regular installment. Which means that since Bakuman looks like it might be hitting its main story end soon, Psyren has a good chance of being in line for a slot. Of course, Reborn definitely deserves a spot, though it would have to get a faster release in GN form.

Submitted by KexCormacson on Thu, 02/09/2012 - 22:29

Reborn! would be gladly accepted (and probably enough to make me buy this darned app/membership/whatever)

Submitted by TsarDragon on Fri, 06/08/2012 - 19:09

Oh shoot. Reborn! totally slipped my mind.

Yeah. RECALCULATING. Gintama. Reborn. Hunter x Hunter.

All great choices.

Submitted by nmanrules@gmail.com on Mon, 01/30/2012 - 16:41

Maybe viz could give samples of other manga that could be swaped in. Expecially when a seris is on hiatus. Since I won't have enough money to buy the WiiU, WiiU games, 3DS games, keep up with Bakuman, Ao No Exorcist, and Nurarihyon no Mago and buy other manga.

Submitted by coldkick on Mon, 01/30/2012 - 16:44

Hunter X Hunter would be a great addition. Its too bad its not as well known in NA.

Submitted by NJZanDatsu on Mon, 01/30/2012 - 19:04

Please add Hunter x Hunter to your weekly shonen Jump alpha line up.

Submitted by ZEROINTELIGENCE on Mon, 01/30/2012 - 19:10

I agree I would definitely like to see HunterxHunter and Gintama but looks like that won't happen anytime soon :(

#1 Medaka Box, #2 Kurogane, #3 Harisugawa in Mirrorworld, and #4 Kuroko's Basketball

Psyren

Submitted by Siliva on Tue, 01/31/2012 - 12:00

I'd love to see the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's and ZEXAL manga in WSJA. They're both run in the monthly magazine V-Jump. So it'd be cool to see 5D's return to the SJ lineup and I wouldn't mind seeing ZEXAL's manga too much.

Submitted by Jbgawsin89@yahoo.com on Tue, 01/31/2012 - 12:41

More gintama you were almost to the best story arc in the series. I've been buying it so I can support this series.

Submitted by quintin-m@hotma... on Tue, 01/31/2012 - 12:45

I really want to see sket dance, beelzebub, harisugawa in mirror world, medaka box, and kuroko's basket ball in the magazine. It would also be cool if viz brought back gintama and reborn! as well

Submitted by kiba153@hotmail.com on Tue, 01/31/2012 - 13:48

Blue Exorcist & Beelzebub

Submitted by TobitoXIII on Tue, 01/31/2012 - 14:22

"Katekyo Hitman REBORN!" definitely needs to be added, since they stopped printing in America. Otherwise, "Kurogane" would be a great addition and they should re-print "Enigma" at least for this site!

BTW, "Ao no Exorcist" or "Blue Exorcist" is not WSJ. It's from JUMP's monthly edition, JUMP SQ. However, it is definitely a GREAT series.

Submitted by serebii46 on Tue, 01/31/2012 - 15:28

Whats up with psyren and other manga from the SJ print not being in the WSJ? WSJ would be 2x as popular if they brought back the print mangas and took down the mangas that are not as popular.

Submitted by cbajd5 on Tue, 01/31/2012 - 20:14

I said it before and I'll say it again, they need to add Hunter X Hunter right away. Because it fits perfectly with real world events right now.

magico would be cool too.

Submitted by sldy93 on Tue, 01/31/2012 - 21:10

I would love to see Beelzebub and maybe Sket Dance but I really wanna see one-shots in Jump. After reading Bakuman it seems like weekly jump in Japan has at least one one-shot every two issues so at least one every 4 months would be cool to see.

Submitted by msargios on Tue, 01/31/2012 - 21:44

I will'd like the NEW HXH s

WSJ NEEDS PSYREN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Submitted by TobitoXIII on Wed, 02/01/2012 - 17:39

"Psyren" cannot run on this website. This site only runs currently running manga in Japan. "Psyren" is a series that ended about 2 years ago.

Submitted by ewhile on Wed, 02/01/2012 - 17:43

Looking at the manga that is currently running in Weekly Shonen Jump, I would say St&rs, an astronaught manga, and Kagami no Kuni no Harisugawa, a guy is stuck in a mirror.

From Jump Square, I would like to see Blue Exorcist, Rossario + vampire Season II, D. Gray Man.

Hey you Can't go wrong!

I definitely want Kurogane to premiere in the US! Even though it's only got a little more than 20 chapters so far, I think it has a lot of potential!!!

Submitted by fishysuave19 on Tue, 02/07/2012 - 16:24

I love Reborn so much i would love it to be added on. Reborn is easily one of my favorites. As for Beelzebub it is so enjoyable to read. I love the characters and the concept of what is happening in the manga. Sket Dance is by far the funniest manga that i think i have ever read and must be added
