I love manga and ever since I was a kid , I really enjoyed drawing and some day soon by the end of next year I will try to go for a one-shot in SJ. I was almost at a point in my life where I wanted to give up and pack it all in, my parents hate art. My dad is a corporate tycoon and my mom a lawyer , imagine their surprise when I wanted to become a mangaka! They disowned me and stop paying for school a few days after I fell in love with my fiance lyn ,she has been very supportive and to my surprise wants to be a voice over/ computer engineer(remind you of anyone?). The more we started talking the more we realized how much we had in common , after a few months I proposed to her but at the time she had to move in order to go to school. For the time being we are apart but still very much in love. We started losing hope that things would ever get back to normal and thats when we found hope in the manga "Bakuman" , we were so shocked when we saw how similar our lives were to saiko and miho. The more we read the stories the more we laughed and talked about how if they can keep going so can we. I'm now 19 almost 20 and she is now 20 going on 21, this year is my crunch year to get my art skills in gear to become the best artist in the world. Next year in spring I will be attending Savannah College of arts and design and she will be finishing up her degree in the phillipines. I know as I work hard to achieve my dream, she will also work hard towards hers. I decided to post my story here in hopes that any other upcoming mangaka realizes you will always want to give up but you never should. Life has many curve balls throw at it but if you cant swing the bat you will never hit a homerun. I look forward to the day when all of my 64 and counting manga's get published in Jack :D.
