Mine right now is...well...odd.

It's pretty much an original creation, as I've never seen anything else quite like it :P

I call it Lavananigans.

It's based on getting a Lava Golem on your Opponent's field, and then making it USELESS. Stalling, Mask Of Restrict, Marshmallons in case they manage to attack, and then I have a beatdown engine in it too, mostly Synchros and a couple XYZ's.

my deck does not follow any particular type and is focused on winning in any way possible and can be played many different ways depending on my opponent

Did you know? the effect of slifer and obalisk can be gotten around if they are special summoned face down like with "the shallow grave" as long as it's face down it's effect wont destroy them and when flip summoned they no longer count as special summoned.

Why is there a "New" next to all of my subjects? How to make it stop?

For a competitive deck, I love using something that is based on Yugi/Yami Yugi's legendary deck. You guys all know what monsters I'm talking about right - Dark Magician, Dark Magician Girl, Kuriboh, etc.? I've been trying to construct a powerful Yugi deck for quite some time, but it is hard to say how "competitive" it really is. I guess the only Yugi decks that would work would be anything off of video games like Dawn of Destiny, World Championship, and Nightmare Trabadour. Hopefully if my Slifer the Sky Dragon card comes in (with no damage on it, since I can't stand damage on cards) , it should strengthen my Yugi deck by a long shot! lololololololololol. What do you guys think? Do you guys have any suggestions for me on how to build a good Yugi deck?

Some pointers for this deck (since it changes alot throughout the series) just take some of the stronger sacrificing monsters that you like alot....you mentioned Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl, those go great together since one gains strength from the other. Also throw in a Dark Magician of Chaos, Buster Blader and Summoned Skull. Now Kuriboh is an amazing card and can (and has for me) gotten me out of a few tight spots and saved me from losing a duel. Now, some pointers here are that you are going to want some strong level 4 monsters (like 1700 attack or higher, with or without an effect: Example Gemini Elf, Alaxandrite Dragon) and some good defense monsters (around 1900 or higher defense: Example Giant Soldier of Stone) to balence out the sacing monsters. Another key point is you want some good effect level 4 or lower monsters (i.e. Man Eater Bug, Old Vindictive Magician, Crimson Ninja,Marshmallon ect) just to help you out in some tight spots too. Now you can't have a good competive deck without great magic and trap cards, if you have or can get these they work in just about any deck....United we Stand, Mage Power, Axe of Despair, Fairy Meteor Crush, Big Bang Attack, Magic Cylinder, Call of the Haunted, Rope of Life, Monster Reborn, Riryoku, Change of Heart,Premature Burial,Interdimentiional Matter Transporter, Mask of Restrict, Spell Binding Circle, Mirror Force, Dark Mirror Force, Swords of Revealing Light, Nobleman of Crossout, Reload, Raigeki,Pot of greed and since you plan on using Slifer....Infinite Cards and one or two copies of the Stray Lambs card. I know this may seem like I am basically telling you how to make a deck as if you didn't know how to, but I am not. I am just telling you what I've learned works from personal experience from the last ten years that I've been playing. I hope this helps you YugiohKing. ~JohnnySyn~
P.S. A couple cards I forgot were Harpies Feather Duster and the Destiny Board set

try adding sage's stone, magic formula, at least one magical dimension, dark magic curtain, and a sword of dark rites for magic cards. for your Slifer, add 3 gravekeepers spy's and a gravekeepers guard so Slifer has a chance for a direct attack. Oh, and a magicians circle so you can get out DM girl

These are pretty cool ideas guys. Keep it going! Also I'm thinking about posting my (envisioned) deck recipe somewhere to see what you guys think of it.

I prefer to call myself a deck builder. I have always have multiple decks. right now i have 11. The one I'm focusing the most on right now is my newest one, Fairies. ok it's not new really but since i got that legendary collection 2 that had those Darklords, I was able to build this chaos'ish, Valhalla deck. it is pretty easy to win within 4 turns with atleast 2-4 2500+ attack monsters.

I run a number of decks but right now I'm focusing on my Blue Eyes Divinity deck and my Xyzing Synchro deck. The key to my second deck is swarming the field and using non specific xyz and synchros. I've found that six samurais mixed with nordic monsters and a few random monsters like Apoctaquil, quill bolt hedgehog, and quick draw synchron works well for me. The only specific synchros I use are Shooting Quasar Dragon, Red Nova, Shooting Star dragon, and the Norse Gods. Now my Blue Eyes Divinity deck is kinda old school because I dont use Synchros or Xyz cards in it, just two Blue Eyes Ultimate dragons. This deck uses a lot of swarming and recycling so I can summon my god cards or summon my ultimate dragons, I also added crush card virus with 3 peten the dark clowns, and a gold rare black luster soldier in there for show. So its a traditional format deck. If anyone wants to duel, hit me up. We can duel over skype or something

Submitted by TechGenusMaster on Sat, 06/02/2012 - 10:18

i love the second deck because going 4 shooting star\quasar or red nova is fun. and the nords look so awesome

My favorite deck is the Archfiend deck. I use an Anti-Meta Synchro Archfiend deck that focuses on destruction and beatdown!

Submitted by Number80 on Thu, 05/10/2012 - 22:16

My type of favorite deck ( I have like 16) is a warrior synchro deck. I base mine around using lv 3 tuners and synchro summoning with them with quick lv 3 nontuners or lv 2 stall cards. I use junk synchron and xx saber fulhelmknight, along with drill synchron. then I use elder of the six samurai, quilbolt hedge, shieldwing, or twin headed behemoth that will hopefully stay that til the nedt turn and then summon the tuner. Then summon other warriors like scarred warrior or gravity or junk warrior. If its a lv 5, then I can synchro summon with other tuners through revival gift or synchro material red dragon archfiend or collosal fighter. Then I power them up with equip cards like reptilliane rage or rainbow veil. Trap cards are used for stalling if my monsters are weak, like scrap iron scarecrow or half or nothing. I also use lv 3 exceed monsters like No. 30, No. 17, and Grenosaurus if there are no tuners. But recently, I have had big issues with a SIx Samurai deck that summons Shien in one turn or summons 4 six samurai in a turn. It also uses synchros like Mist Worm that repel, utterly finishing the field off from containing any monsters. Any comments are allowed.

Submitted by Stolensoul on Thu, 05/10/2012 - 23:19

so i used to run a deck alot like this but i kinda perfected it....instead of using just warriors or equips i switched to using mostly level 2 monsters that can get more out or have really good eff then ill use junk synchron to its best. there are alot of "dark" synchros that only require a dark tuner like (junk synchron) and a beast monster: ryko, hane-hane, nimble momonga, all level 2 monsters that have awesome effs that you could use as defenses and can be brought back with junk synchron

Submitted by Number80 on Sun, 05/13/2012 - 15:04

So you used to play with dark synchros like frozen fitzgerald with lv 2 beasts summoned by junk synchron? That works (makes me wish I had rank 5 monsters like evolsaur or No. 12) but I don't have too many beasts. But I should include more lv 2 monsters for Junk Synchron. What did you replace the equip cards with? I use Rainbow Veil, Junk Barrage, and Reptillianne Rage for offense since my regular monsters aren't offensive themselves.

Submitted by TechGenusMaster on Sat, 05/19/2012 - 06:09

Id add level eater and quiilbolt hedgehog like yusei does and syncro 4 dark diviner

Submitted by meleemovies on Sun, 05/13/2012 - 17:08

I've got a deck that utilizes Spell Striker's ability to come back from the graveyard by removing from play a spell card, and then using it for offerings or Syncro Summons. In tandem with Golden Homunculus's effect, and Junk Synchrons.

Submitted by Number80 on Sat, 05/19/2012 - 17:13

Sadly, I don't have a Dark Diviner, and I do have a Quiltbolt Hedgehog in my deck. My only Dark Synchros are from the Yusei promo - Fitzgerald, Arachnid, Zeman, and Hundred Eyes. I did get a Stardust Dragon and Nitro Synchron recently, and I plan to put my Quickdraw Synchron in there 'cause I have Junk Warrior, Junk Gardna, Nitro Warrior, Turbo Warrior, and Drill Warrior. If I do, then a Level Eater should go there. But my monsters are all usually lv 2 or 3, so the reason I took out my Lvl Eater out first is cause then I cant even Synchro Summon because then the levels would add up to 3 or 4.

The best two decks are the ones that win and the ones that you enjoy playing.

My pref Deck is my custom Dragon deck, it does not contain the blues eyes white dragon or the red eyes black dragon, it is assorted for strategy with raw power to appropriately comment the dragon types naturally high strength. Cards such as flamvell dragnov, and armed dragon lvl3 only make gameplay more fun and well orchestrated.

Submitted by GodDeck on Sat, 06/02/2012 - 00:33

My favorite deck is of course...a god deck. Use a variety of beat sticks, powerful traps and magic cards to help real in the big one. Good support cards like Harden Armed Dragon well help make your gods even more unstoppable.

Submitted by DragonKMS on Sat, 06/02/2012 - 01:52

I have 38 decks built. My main 2 are my dragons: Hieratic and my custom deck : Dragons Rage. In short I'm the most unorthodox duelist ever. I take risks that others try to avoid, yet still manage to get a win sometimes...

Submitted by RedNovaKing on Sat, 06/02/2012 - 07:25

i love dragons and am kinda dragon connisuer and as my name suggest red nova/dragon is my fav. so im currently building a deck around him but very diff from Atlas' my deck is called "Red Dragon Dynasty" based around the not just the previous cards but also other powerful red dragons like slifer and void ogre dragon. i also love non dragon dragons like Neo-daedalus i got a deck for him teamed with shark drake. but those are just my favs, i got quite a few monster or type specific decks. i want hieratic next. not for it "power" but just for the dragons, and their egyptian motif.
