Make sure you have a balance of monsters and spells/traps. I recomend 20 monsters, 10 spells and 10 traps. do not forget basics like sangan, mirror force, and monster reborn. DO NOT FORGET TO BE UNIQUE

How do make a competitive deck that is based on Yugi/ Yami Yugi? I'm trying to create a poweful deck that revolves around Yugi's legendary deck, especially Dark Magician, Dark Magician Girl, kuriboh, etc. Assuming that Slifer the Sky Dragon will be mailed to me in perfect condition (I hate damaged cards), I would like to add him into the deck (being Yugi's signature god card). Can you help me? Can you give me any advice or an idea of a good deck recipe? That would be awsome!

Submitted by halospartanmaster99 on Wed, 05/02/2012 - 15:25

alright buy yami dulest packs or go to yugiohmint.com and order single cards. you are going to need to foucus on one to two main points. i suggest a dark spellcasters deck if your going dark magians that revolve around the grave. this is good for dark magian girl. use cards like morphing jar, needle worm nest, and allure of darkness to draw and get cards in the grave. get common traps that are effective such as mirrior force, torential tribute, and bottomless hole. look for cards that revolve around the dark mahians or/and spellcasters. find cards that can repeatily bring back cards then drop sliver by bringing them out constantly, this also a good way to start beating your opponet by bomb barding them with your stronger monsters. have a few "staple cards" in your deck like mystical space typhone, giant trunade, and monster reborn. get a lot of cards that work with spell counters. use dark eradicator warlock, skilled dark magian, magians valkyria, dark magic blast, and breaker the magical warrior.

here are the main parts
1. dark spellcasters
2. one or two cards off type (like magians valkyria)
3. send cards to the grave and bring them back tribute for slifer.
4. have "staple" cards(staple cards are cards that work in any deck)
5. revolve around the three magians dark magian girl, dark magian, and magian of dark chaos

build your version of it, tweek it, and play.

i advise kuriboh and exodia, because he used them in the first episodes b4 they were lost at sea lolz

Submitted by Dcowsert on Thu, 08/16/2012 - 00:40

I'm putting Slifer in my Exodia deck. It's perfect. heh heh

Submitted by Dcowsert on Thu, 08/16/2012 - 00:38

I have always loved spellcasters, and one of my main favorite decks centers around the dark magician. I have three of them in this deck. here's a list of what the deck has that might aid you:
-Dark magicians
-1-2 Dark Magician Girl(s)
-1 Sage's Stone
-1 Buster Blader
-Mirror force(s)
-1 Dark Magic Attack
-Magical Dimension
-emblem of dragon destroyer
-King of the swamp
-Skilled Dark Magician
-Magic cylinder
-spellbinding circle
-Polymerization
-magician's circle
-chaos sorcerer
-sorcerer of dark magic
-Magician of faith
-breaker the magical warrior
-Phalanx Pike
-united we stand, etc.
-Side deck: two Dark Paladins

Don't forget your Monster reborns, Change of heart, pots of greed, mystical space typhoons, witches of black forest, all the other cards necessary to make a deck run smoother. Once again, keep in mind that this is my Magician deck, not a Yugi deck. However, it'll definitely help put you in the right direction.

Submitted by Yugiohking on Thu, 08/16/2012 - 08:19

This list looks really cool to me, whether it is intended to revolve around Yugi or not. However, this won't cut it in a tournament because Magician of Faith, Witch of the Black Forest, Change of Heart, and Pot of Greed are all forbidden.

Submitted by Yugiohking on Thu, 08/16/2012 - 08:21

Can I duel you on the dueling forums Dcowsert?

Submitted by Dcowsert on Sat, 08/18/2012 - 00:50

Yeah, they banned far too many cards that are too fun to play. Due to that, the fact that I'm not exactly a prepubescent child, and travel issues, I don't play for the sake of official tournaments. I have a small group of friends who still shamelessly play yugioh with me.

I find the forum duels far too confusing. In addition, i like to actually see my opponent's cards. However, if you have a skype account or something, I'd be happy to put you against my Nine Decks of Hell. I always love a new opponent.

Submitted by Yugiohking on Sat, 08/18/2012 - 07:51

How does skype work? Does it cost any money?

Submitted by Yugiohking on Sat, 08/18/2012 - 07:53

You said you guys do a private tournament. Are you saying that you guys use banned cards in your duels?

Submitted by DragonKMS on Sat, 08/18/2012 - 09:34

Yup, and with my group of friends that still play yugioh my 2 main dragon decks are "the ones to beat". majority of my decks are advance format ready but i play by all rules

my friend Hiroto rocks an ancient gear deck and it can be a challenge....

all of my decks are 50 cards. I know im at a large disadvantage but heres how i look at it: I DONT NEED a side deck. I have always had the problem of "what card to take out, what would work better" and to remedy that they become 50 card decks. i may not get the cards i need off the bat but i will get them, plus all cards in the decks are used.

on skype look up a "robohellgod" ill be your opponent one day *evil laughs*

It's a program like AIM, but it was designed so that that you can communicate with anyone who has a webcam and an internet connection. But yes, Skype is free to download and install. If you own a laptop, there's a good chance Skype was already installed when you first received it.

In addition, yes. We're a group of poor people who mainly play with old-school yugioh cards (pre-Yugioh Gx era). Most of our cards are likely banned by now anyway. We find it more than fair to use any card we own, since they were made to be played. Any card (that isn't fake) is legal in this private gathering. You can even have more than three of the same card in your deck. Mind you, this is within reason. Anyone who shows up attempting to win with a deck only comprised of exodia and pots of greed, for example, are kindly shown the door. I want to say our limit is up to five of the same card, but I need to double-check on that. We do have our snags with rules, mainly when someone has two or three of the same card, each with different wordings (sometimes resulting in changing it's effect significantly). Some of my friends aim to torture me with picking apart the english language for every card like this, etc. For the most part though, as long as I manage to find at least 8 people to participate and a small trinket for a trophy (and a cool prize card, of course), the tournaments are a boatload of fun.

Submitted by Yugiohking on Thu, 05/03/2012 - 05:52

I'm just curious. If someone were to have all three legal god cards in their deck, is it possible for him or her to quickly summon all three god cards onto the field at once? Yugioh wikia said that it is recommended to only focus your strategy on only one Egyptian god card, as it is too difficult to bring them all out. But then again, if that's true, then why Konami bringing out the Creator of Light Horakty? My point is this; is having all three Egyptian god cards worth investing on and adding to one's deck?

Submitted by theduelingjuggalo on Thu, 05/03/2012 - 20:56

Mauselium of the Emperor, for every monster needed to summon them just pay 1000 life points, but you'll need to boost your life points a bit, especially for Ra

Submitted by Yugiohking on Tue, 05/08/2012 - 06:52

Mauselium of the Emperor may sound plausible. But based on what I've seen on my Yugioh World Championship game on my DS (which is the closest to the real life game rules), just using a spell card like that would not work on a god card. I'm guessing because the cards say that they can only be normal summoned from the hand by offering three monsters as a tribute. My question earlier was whether or not having all three legal god cards in one's deck is worth the investment; and if it is, is there a strategy out there that can allow a player to quickly get all three god cards onto the field at once.

Submitted by TechGenusMaster on Tue, 05/08/2012 - 13:53

call of the haunted or limit reverse for ra and foolish burial to dump them in grave,im trying to get all gods to, it seems worth it

Submitted by Yugiohking on Wed, 05/09/2012 - 06:09

Cards that do a special summon such as call of the haunted, combined with foolish burial would certainly do well with Obelisk and Slifer; especially if you can use them to wipe out your opponent in one turn. The only problem here is that this would not work for Ra, as he is not allowed to special summoned, which is just sad.

I Thought That They Could All Be Ressurected, But For One Turn Only?

Submitted by Darkscythe on Thu, 09/06/2012 - 20:25

I think using trap-monster may in one turn (2 turns to set up) be the easiest way to normal summon the gods. The problem with special summoning obelisk and slifer is they lose their magic/trap/effect invulnerability if you don't normal summon them. The summoning still can't be negated, but beyond that they are vulnerable .

Submitted by Bob1200 on Thu, 09/06/2012 - 20:29

Obelisk Is Invulnerable To Spells, Traps, And Monster Effects Entirely, lol

Submitted by Darkscythe on Thu, 09/06/2012 - 20:35

True... but slifer must be normal summoned to be invincible while summoning, but after that fissure could kill him.

Submitted by Bob1200 on Thu, 09/06/2012 - 20:37

I Forgot Fissure's Effect, Does It Kill The Strongest, Or The Weakest Monster? I Think The Strongest, Right? lol

Submitted by Darkscythe on Thu, 09/06/2012 - 20:40

Opponent's monster with weakest attack. I can remember when that card was devastating in the first every pack. lol

Submitted by Bob1200 on Thu, 09/06/2012 - 20:42

Ok, Well If U Have Another Monster On The Field Fissure Can't Do Anything, Lmao...

Submitted by Darkscythe on Thu, 09/06/2012 - 20:57

Hammer Shot, kills strongest monster in att pos on field.
Dark Core, discard a card and remove a monster from play.
Tribute to the Doomed...

Need I go on.

Submitted by Bob1200 on Thu, 09/06/2012 - 21:01

I Haven't Played Yugioh In Forever, lol

Submitted by Darkscythe on Thu, 09/06/2012 - 21:13

The funny thing is these are all cards from way back when fusion monsters were the best way to summon. So it would be hard for anyone to remember, i've just been looking through my old cards because I almost never buy packs so I don't have almost any of the last 10 sets lol.

Submitted by wyatt4him on Thu, 05/31/2012 - 20:40

It's possible but it is hard because their isw only one way to summon all three egyptian gods to the field at once and it reqires a very picky card combo

Submitted by HolyPaladin on Thu, 08/16/2012 - 07:05

Fabled monsters would be able to pull this off since you only need to discard them to special summon them but it only works for one of them each turn

Submitted by DragonKMS on Sat, 08/18/2012 - 09:59

people can be stupid... no one understands the heiratics and gods are best friends. hieratics swarm the field and depending on which god to summon when well thats up to you... Being the dragon fanatic i am have been so hyped up for the heiratics and NOW everyone wants to use them.... in my opinion only good-advanced duelists can use the heiratics to the fullest. and this deck is one of 30+ decks i own... why do i like it so much? simple 1 its dragon, 2 its egyptian based, 3 they dominate

Submitted by Terracon417 on Mon, 08/27/2012 - 23:11

Finally! Somebody else seemed to realize the amazing synergy between Hieratic field spamming (which is usually all special summoning), and playing a God as the normal summon. Combine it with cards like Trial and Tribulation and you have a fun combo.

My favorite card by far is Number 40 Gimmik puppet heavan's stringsbecause it has an awesome effect and the card looks cool

Submitted by Dcowsert on Sat, 08/18/2012 - 00:56

I've had a thing for magicians since yugioh first came out. Though I don't actually own it yet, I think my favorite card in existence is the Dark Magician of Chaos. I've obsessed over owning this card for a long time, and I one day intend to get it from it's original booster, Invasion of Chaos.

Coincidentally, my favorite card that I do own is Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning (IOC). It's definitely the best asset I have in my dueling, and It's the main star of my signature deck.

thanks for responding, though i wanted this info 3 months ago, lolz. Cool fave card, my favorite is shooting star dragon.

I like to have a defense, stall synchro deck with lv1 and lv3 tuners for lv6 or lv5 synchro warriors. I also use equip cards to protect and add power to the monsters to keep them on the field. Is there anyway to make my deck more offensive or faster?

(I also play 15 other decks, but I currently want to use this deck to defeat a particular Six Samurai Deck. I think that the main reason I lose - if I do - is because I don't use my destruction cards as often. I was thinking about Solemn Warning or something to negate activations since I protect my life points anyway.) Since youre tech genus, do you have halberd cannon? <just asking>
