CARDS: Vote on the Next YU-GI-OH! Promo Card

Submitted by Cheesybread on Sun, 05/13/2012 - 18:36

I have a feeling that most of these are going to be featured as TCG cards in Return of the Duelist, so for the most part this poll doesn't matter, we're definitely getting all of these cards by the end of the year. I'd vote for a Gimmick Puppet though, just to cement getting something IV uses :3

Submitted by John Bae on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 15:57

Not true. We hold the rights to those cards, not Konami.

With that said, there's always the possibility that we relinquish the rights to those cards to Konami to be released at a later date, but that won't happen unless newer cards that are comparable or better come out in Japan.

Submitted by tarix3245 on Thu, 06/07/2012 - 19:43

Do you really hold all the rights to these? Sounds a bit like what happened with Upper Deck, and you can see how well that worked. Unless there is a time agreement with Konami that you don't want to tell us about.

Submitted by wyatt4him on Tue, 06/19/2012 - 10:41

Do you guys have the right to number 88 GimmikPuppet Destiny Leo

Submitted by Jiggla on Sun, 05/13/2012 - 19:42

Submitted by John Bae on Mon, 05/14/2012 - 11:16

Submitted by xCBKxDubstep on Mon, 05/14/2012 - 05:33

should vote for gustaph yes it will help the OTK but hey that means dino rabbit may no longer be the top deck so its time for a change!

Submitted by ljrice on Mon, 05/14/2012 - 06:40

# 15 has an effect to stop the xyz summons and destroy them and then inflict like 1000 damage to ur opponent

Submitted by piegod on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 15:35

# 40 for the win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Submitted by DragonKMS on Wed, 06/06/2012 - 23:56

Gustav is a better card in my opinion because:
1: it isn't over powered
2: doesn't make my Hieratic's overpowered
3: I love war
4: It's a card version of a WWII weapon
5: I have several decks that could use its power.

random fact i have 38 decks built. 15 i use most often, and all advance tourney legal.

Submitted by wyatt4him on Wed, 06/13/2012 - 20:53

that is true but number forty can wipe out all your opponents monsters and inflict over 200 points of dammage

Submitted by ljrice on Mon, 05/14/2012 - 06:41

heres the effect

Up to twice per turn, during your Main Phase 1: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 Special Summoned monster your opponent controls; destroy that target, and if that target was an Xyz Monster, inflict damage to your opponent equal to its original ATK.

Submitted by ljrice on Mon, 05/14/2012 - 06:38

we only get 2 chances to to get the other 2 numbers shown for this year from shonen jump if u wanna wait thats fine by me but think about it nothing is more important than the numbers vote for them to be the last 2 promos of this year please number 15 and number 40

Submitted by n3ight on Mon, 05/14/2012 - 07:56

Vote for Gustav Max for Hieratics to be stronger!

Submitted by galaxyrasangsn on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 19:39

how is gustav going to make hireatic better

Submitted by maddoxjared1987 on Thu, 06/07/2012 - 05:08

They get out red eyes darkness metals as easily as we breathe air......

Submitted by John Bae on Mon, 05/14/2012 - 11:18

And for everyone using the internet to learn about the cards, keep in mind that those are translations of the Japanese version of the cards. Final text, as officially done by Konami, may be different that what you read online.

Submitted by tarix3245 on Thu, 06/07/2012 - 19:45

There is a difference between the text and the effect. I know of no cards that have a major effect difference between the Japanese and TCG Cards.

Submitted by wiseguy101 on Mon, 05/14/2012 - 12:31

Since #'s 7 and 11 got made into gaov secrets, i'd rather recieve one of the two numbers than a synchro support cards. I think the synchro related cards here should be printed in a regular pack. I vote 40!

Submitted by Dillan71 on Mon, 05/14/2012 - 12:51

Please do not pick Gustaph omg.. this is our chance to keep the TCG at bay from more broken combos. Take Number 40, we need another free Rank 8

Submitted by taekwondinh on Mon, 05/14/2012 - 14:23

Please vote for Sirius the Blue Dog Star! It has an awesome effect where whenever its removed from the field one face-up monster on your opponents field loses 2400 ATK. There has not been a good synchro monster released in awhile and I think this one is totally worth waiting a few months for. It has a cool name, relatively easy to summon, decent ATK and DEF stats and an AWESOME EFFECT!

Submitted by SonicMaster23 on Mon, 05/14/2012 - 16:46

My vote would be for any of the Numbers, Gustaph Max or Dragorado. I'm also interested in Sirius. But after reading Dragorado, that would be perfect for Hieratic Dragons.

Submitted by animeprince1 on Mon, 05/14/2012 - 16:58

its not that oped inzektors and heroes beat hieratics TCG needs a boost so stop bitching just cause u cant get the deck

Submitted by Slifer on Mon, 05/14/2012 - 17:23

Hey John, being that it was mentioned in another thread, the cards have to be released to V-Jump readers to count as a Promo. Being that it was released in a limited quantity to V-Jump readers, would The Creator God of Light, Horakhty be considred for a future SJ Alpha Promo?

Submitted by John Bae on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 09:23

We actually have other outlets where cards are released as promos that we can bring out. There is a large list of cards that we work with Konami on compiling. Some cards are given to Konami to release, and some cards are held by us as possible promos. More than likely, if you don't see a card on the list in the poll, Konami now has rights to them even though they might have been released by Shueisha in a product. Whether or not Konami brings them out in the neartime future is up to them.

Good question though. I hope this somewhat answers it.

Submitted by Slifer on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 14:19

Yes, it somewhat answers my question. I'm very pleased.that we can do another SJ poll. So, it's pretty much up to KONAMI. Thank you, sir. Now, if only I could find the US Headquarters e-mail address..

Submitted by John Bae on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 15:58

If you go over to, Konami reps are there and will occassionally address questions. Not the best outlet to get an answer, but it's worth a try!

Submitted by Slifer on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 18:52

Thanks for the info, sir. Just PM'ed him. Hoping to respond. Knowing that these cards could get a shot makes me all happy! Me gusta! Once again, thanks, my good man.

Give me a reason to spam Grapha, Number 40 is awesome!!

Submitted by Whitenamese on Mon, 05/14/2012 - 21:43

Please pick Gustaph. Not only will it strengthen decks, it will also open a brand new way of dueling for the TCG.

Submitted by infinimagination on Mon, 05/14/2012 - 22:21

MY GOD CARDS, VOTE FOR GUSTAPH PLZ :,,,D lol but seriously, it's really good

MY GOD CARDS, VOTE FOR GUSTAPH PLZ :,,,D lol but seriously, it's really good

Submitted by starlordtitus on Mon, 05/14/2012 - 22:30

Here's the thing, Gustaph actually opens up the way to many different decks, not just strengthening Hieratics. Also, Hieratic need this card, we all know this is the standard way to play Hieratics and we've all been waiting for Gustaph. You can use him with any Level 10 monster like Exodius and Metaion the Timelord. as well. Gustaph is an incredbile card. Hieratics can still be stopped by cards like Mask Of Restrict, Light Imprisoning Mirror and the sort. Instead of trying to prevent this amazing card from coming out, try and adapt to it, that's what innovation is all about, it's what Yugioh's all about. Let's get Gustaph!

Submitted by wyatt4him on Wed, 06/13/2012 - 20:58

Number forty is way better one because its ability can deal more damage and it is easier to summon to the field so if you think Gustaph is a better card then your not a real yugioh fan. Because a true yugioh fan would choose to get all the number cards and then use them to be the ultimte duelist so number 40 is the only option for a true yugioh fan .

Submitted by treybtw on Mon, 05/14/2012 - 22:37

it does not matter that it might break a few types of decks, i wana use in in an E-Hero OTK, but just because it isnt picked here does not mean it will never come out in the TCG, just pick it so we dont have to keep waiting, it will get released eventually anyway, all these cards will

Submitted by starlordtitus on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 00:09

Good point.

Submitted by rainamay08 on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 04:33

we need this card so red eyes wont be a sitting duck when you summon him with atum

Submitted by Majineko on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 08:34

number 40 can turn a game around without being to broken. gustaph will just add more broken otks to the meta. thus more people leaving for vanguard

Submitted by CyberZane on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 09:30

Yeah im for Number 40. There is already too many broken OTK decks out there.

Submitted by Bystander on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 09:19

Need him for my Dragon deck.

Submitted by CyberZane on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 09:29

i voted for the phantom lord (oh so many ways to apply it lol)

Submitted by arizonagt on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 12:32

Why you people voting for number 40 i dont get why its so good

Submitted by piegod on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 15:37

its effect is: 2 Level 8 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; place 1 String Counter on each other face-up monster on the field. During the End Phase of your opponent's next turn: Destroy all monsters with String Counters placed on them, then inflict 500 damage to your opponent for each destroyed monster. it powns!!!!

Submitted by jkphantom on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 12:54

I don't really care which cards I get, just as long as i get my hands on that Slifer card....Heh heh heh heh heh....
