CARDS: YU-GI-OH! Gimme SHOCK Treatment!

 

Attention all SJ Alpha members! Your first Yu-Gi-Oh! promo card, the Xyz Monster Number 16: Shock Master, will be arriving sometime late-May to June. If you want to get some ideas on how to use this literal powerhouse to his fullest, then we invite you to read on!

Shocked Up For The Night
Getting three Level 4 Monsters out isn’t easy, but stick to your guns...er, cards! Number 16: Shock Master nixes out all Monster, Spell, or Trap effects until your next turn. If that doesn’t sound awesome, then think for a moment. Two turns without your opponent’s Traps. No Spells until your next move. All Effect Monsters momentarily de-fanged. Any of these could leave your opponent wide open, especially if he’s favoring one type. Sounds a bit more awesome now, huh?

Lightning Strike Three - You’re Out!
Remember that like most Xyz Monsters, Shock Master loses a Material monster to activate its effect. You also can’t activate it more than once per turn. Conserve your ammo for when you need it, but don’t hold back when the time comes. If you can, try to get a second (or even third!) out onto the field to cripple your opponent completely.

Backup Cards

Daybreaker
Shock Master could use a blazing knight to light the path. Daybreaker lets you Summon another of its name when Special Summoned. Combine with Photon Lead to do just that, and try to get all three into your hand for a triple sunlight smackdown!

Eradicator Epidemic Virus
Double-dip with Eradicator Epidemic Virus, offering up one 2500 DARK Monster to remove all of your opponent’s Spells or Traps for their next three turns. Feel a sneeze building?

Green, Red and Yellow Gadgets
Your hand low on Level 4 monsters? Behold the power of Gadget teamwork! Summon one colored Gadget to get another into your hand. Material, ahoy!

It says that we should be getting it sometime late May, so they think we should. But some areas may take a bit longer to arrive, so it's hard to say exactly. I still haven't received my copy yet either. Patience I guess is key for this.

i also live in Michigan and i havent gotten my promo either. I've had issues with my magazine delivery before but hopefully everything works out now.

there are 2 days left in may where is shock master i live in canada if i dont get in today or tomorow im gonna call shonen jump so they can send me on cause i payed 25 dollers of 1 year and i expect to get my cards

You should not have a problem with P.O. Box ljrice. I had that exact same question a while back. I emailed salpha@viz.com, asking if my address, which also has a P.O. Box involved, would be valid for the shipping. They responded, saying that a P.O. Box is fine and that a lot of people have used P.O. Box in their addresses. Therefore, you should be just as fine as I am as well as everyone else, when it comes to getting promo cards in the mail. I hope that clarifies things for you and everyone else who is concerned about that.

Seriously though, I work for editorial. I'm not sure where your card is, since a printing company is handling the shipping. What I'd do is just wait until the end of the week. If you still don't have it, write in to sjalpha@viz.com.

SHOCK MASTER should be going out any time now. Expect to receive it anytime from now until June. Wish I could give everyone more exact dates, but it all really depends on when the printing company sends them out.

Okay that's awesome, but what if you pre ordered it from somewhere else i.e. CoreTCG.com? How long would it take for them to ship it. About the same time or longer? Just wondering...

thers 1 day left in may and no card yet if it doesnt come tomorow im gonna call and demand they send me one i payed 25 dollers for 1 year and its almost june with no shock master in sight.

Since you signed up before the deadline, you should receive SHOCK MASTER. Just make sure you have your mailing address inputted in your VIZmanga.com profile. SHOCK MASTER is being sent out as we speak, so hopefully you receive it sometime within the next couple weeks.
