I was a little offset by the choice that not only was the series added to WSJA new and untested, but something no one asked for.
I'm a 22 year old whose been reading manga for a good portion of my life, and I really only get to enjoy some shonen manga nowadays because it's like I've seen it all. The ones like One Piece and Hunter X Hunter that are innovative and refreshing are always my favorite.
So I go into shonen manga with my hopes always low. But so far, wow, what a great choice.
1) The arts great. It's not just your typical "I have my assistants do everything" feel to it's art. From the first chapter I can already see that the artist has his own flavor. It's great to see the color images with the black and white as well.
2) The story. There's actually something here, there's depth. It's not just the typical story of how one character has to fight another.
3) The world. I'm a giant fan of manga that actually suck you into the world, like Penguin Village of Dr. Slump, or basically anywhere in One Piece... this has managed to do that in only a chapter.
So basically, if you're actually reading this staff at WSJA, you did a good job. I hope we can continue to see this level of success with both the company and Barrage.
