CARDS: YU-GI-OH! Gimme SHOCK Treatment!

 

Attention all SJ Alpha members! Your first Yu-Gi-Oh! promo card, the Xyz Monster Number 16: Shock Master, will be arriving sometime late-May to June. If you want to get some ideas on how to use this literal powerhouse to his fullest, then we invite you to read on!

Shocked Up For The Night
Getting three Level 4 Monsters out isn’t easy, but stick to your guns...er, cards! Number 16: Shock Master nixes out all Monster, Spell, or Trap effects until your next turn. If that doesn’t sound awesome, then think for a moment. Two turns without your opponent’s Traps. No Spells until your next move. All Effect Monsters momentarily de-fanged. Any of these could leave your opponent wide open, especially if he’s favoring one type. Sounds a bit more awesome now, huh?

Lightning Strike Three - You’re Out!
Remember that like most Xyz Monsters, Shock Master loses a Material monster to activate its effect. You also can’t activate it more than once per turn. Conserve your ammo for when you need it, but don’t hold back when the time comes. If you can, try to get a second (or even third!) out onto the field to cripple your opponent completely.

Backup Cards

Daybreaker
Shock Master could use a blazing knight to light the path. Daybreaker lets you Summon another of its name when Special Summoned. Combine with Photon Lead to do just that, and try to get all three into your hand for a triple sunlight smackdown!

Eradicator Epidemic Virus
Double-dip with Eradicator Epidemic Virus, offering up one 2500 DARK Monster to remove all of your opponent’s Spells or Traps for their next three turns. Feel a sneeze building?

Green, Red and Yellow Gadgets
Your hand low on Level 4 monsters? Behold the power of Gadget teamwork! Summon one colored Gadget to get another into your hand. Material, ahoy!

Before it was posted that shock master and slifer were coming out in May/June. It appears everyone, myself included, recieved 2 copies of shock master.. was it supposed to be 1 copy of slifer and 1 copy of shock master? I'd still like to get slifer, let me know what I have to do to get it, even if it means sending back a shock master..

Nevermind about this post. I just read the update that it will take about a week or 2 from when the person announced it. Will be waiting for that awesome card and soon Slifer :)

It was never posted that both come out at the same time. SHOCK MASTER comes out first (people are getting it now). SLIFER goes out a couple months later.

Say, what number would you be calling? The one previosly for subscribing to paper SJ says that they don't do anything with the digital. When I called trying to cancel my SJA subscription they gave me an email adress (sjalpha@viz.com), which I find highly impersonal but I did get responce in about 5 days or so. I'd recommend you try that instead.
Or if you've found a phone number to actually call them, could you post it here? thanks.

It was a mistake. Members should have only received one card. For the future, expect to receive only one copy.

You signed up too late for SHOCK MASTER. The first card you'll get is SLIFER a couple months from now. The promotion for SHOCK MASTER ended in April.

I also got 2 shock masters no wonder people are complaining about not getting theirs when they are double packaging them. Not that I'm worried about it anymore lol I'm already in the process of trading away one of my copies.

Most likely in the mail. BUT do you qualify for SHOCK MASTER (did you sign up before April 20?). Also, have you made sure that your mailing address is inputted in your VIZmanga.com profile?

I sitll haven't received my shock master, nor my april issues yet either..... :( What's going on Shonen Jump? I have my address info correct, and my vizmanga.com shipping updated, but I haven't received anything ever since I swtiched to Shonen Jump alpha

And what do you mean by April issues? Did you sign up for a membership after April? If so, then you don't qualify for SHOCK MASTER.
