Issues with the App (not the browser)

Dear Viz,

First off I'd like to say thank you very much and congrats on bringing this awesome content to the U.S.! I have been a reader since 5th grade. I'm in college now!

The issue I have is:

When I tried to read the issue on my Ipad, noting really showed up. I looked in the "my manga" section, and have also tried logging out and logging in back again. I downloaded the update, and even uninstalled and re-installed the app again. I am able to read the issue online in my browser on a computer.

I called their support 800 number and asked. I was told they are working on it and it may be a week. They may have just said a week to be safe. I hope it doesn't take that long.

According to the SJ Twitter feed, (as of this post) the App is still pending approval from Apple.

So WSJA is going to have its own app? Or they need to get the approval to send weekly content to the current Viz app?

A week?! I have to wait a bleeping week to read this on my iPad?! WTF?! This stopped being funny yesterday and now it's just pissing me off even more. I paid for this. I'm not getting anything for free. The quality on the computer screen is bad. Viz should've had this ready to go before Monday. I don't know what the process is for apps on the app store, but this is ridiculous.

No offense, but you're kind of overreacting. It's a week at the very most, and it's not like you're not going to get it, so aside from a minor inconvenience, there's nothing to reasonably get pissed over.

Those with apple devices like iPads, iPod touches and iPhones can access ALPHA through the VIZ Manga app which should be ALPHA-ready any time now. If you're still having issues, please contact us at sjalpha@viz.com.

I think when john said anytime now he meant in a few days. Anytime sounds like within a day, maybe hours. I'm still not gonna get my hopes up for anytime before Monday.

No the app is free. You should just subscribe though. $25 for a Subscribtion VS paying $0.99 for each issue (there will be 48 issues a year...)

I know the app is free.

I payed for the sja issue on my laptop, to read it until it got release on the app. Now that it is I am asking if I will need to pay an additional .99 to read it through the app.

As far as subscribing, I will have to wait a while before I can do that.

Ok, it is showing up in the app now. But it wants me to pay $4.99. When I click buy it ask if I want to buy Buso Renkin Volume 1. Almost there.

I have the app and my manga downloaded fine. But when I click "Read" on the manga, I get kicked out of the app entirely. Anyone else have this problem? This is on Ipad1.

I have the same issue on my IPad 2. I hope it's a minor bug that they will be able to fix ASAP. I told them about it in the Feedback section in the App.

Thanks for the link. I fixed the issue on mine by updating my ios software to 5.0.1. Now I can read the issue just fine.
