Since Bleach is on its last Arc, and Naruto is most likely going to end soon as well, SJ is going to need new hit mangas. One Piece is still going strong, but it needs competition.
Personally, even though i'm not a big fan of the new SJ format, i'd like to see improvements in the kind of mangas the magazine includes. D. Grayman, Rosario+Vampire, Ao No Exorcist, Claymore, Reborn, Fairy Tail, Soul Eater, and Psyren are all good candidates.
Mangas like Claymore, Rosario, Grayman, and Tegami are monthly updates. There are lots more mangas, but those are just a few popular ones i can think of off the top of my head.
if you have any input, please comment.

well, you do have a point
Well, you do have a point, when the powerhouse manga are gone they will need replacements.
D. Grayman, Rosario+Vampire, Ao No Exorcist would be some good choices.
I don't think they own the rights to Fairy Tail, Soul Eater; they can't do Psyren, because it has already ended in Japan.
also
Also, Shonen jump Alpha is just getting started with the online stuff and its a difficult transition, so we should cut them some slack.
Poor taste dude
Not only did you not read the forum rules, that's really cruel to all the manga artists that you're telling people to steal their manga instead of paying the small amount to them to read it here on sjalpha. Have a bit of moral fiber please.
Advertising your scan sites
Advertising your scan sites is very supeerrr stupid.
Follow the rules!
Please don't mention any other scanslation sites on this forum. It's totally against the rules, bro. I deleted your paragraph about it. And listen to Modab! He speaks wisely.
Also, Fairy Tale and Soul Eater are not Shonen Jump properties.
Thanks, and have a great day!

Points
WEll i guess you guys do have points, but i've been rading SJ for a long time and i'm not especially happy with how it's been going. They've snubbed out so many other series in the past, so i really doubt they'll had lots of new ones. That's the main reason i read those unofficial sites. I'm not a big supporter of them, really, but SJ has cut the size of their content down so far, and now they've reduced it to digital.
Honestly how many of you are really fans of this new format. I want the good old classic newsprint SJ back. Japan's got it right. And i totally get that the economy's rough. But i don't think that they can keep up with their subscription rates now that everything's online. Not everyone has a computer unfortunately, so the printed stuff was good for those kinds of people.
Thanks for the input people.
To be honest digital is a
To be honest digital is a better opportunity to get more series. I'm sure it'll be easier to get more manga published now that it's entirely digital rather than print. Give it some time bro
This depends on critical mass ...
Each extension has to "pay for itself" with an increase in subscriptions.
But Viz shoots themselves in the foot on getting new subscriptions in two ways:
(ONE) Their subscription plans. They have $1 per issue and ~$30 per year, which works out to around $0.50/wk. They need a middle ground. 3 months at about $0.75/wk would slot right in, which is $9.95. That's a much easier step up from weeklies than the year. Someone who has been on quarterly for a couple of times will then have a renewal period roll around when they have a bit of extra money, and they'll go the year to save the ~$10 per year.
(TWO) Their online reader, which serves pages extremely fast compared to JManga, but is otherwise crap on smaller devices. Viz is trapped in a 2005 mindset with desktop PC's and full sized laptops as the target that fueled the big scanlation aggregator sites. I'm 100% sure they have never given their developers a cheap Chinese 7" tablet to try to read the manga on.
And while a professional class User Interface might be too much to hope for, they could have fixed the biggest problems a long time ago if they thought things through:
(1) A setting to pick pop-up controls with BIG buttons for touchscreen devices.
(2) "No page turn" zones at the bottom fifth and the top fifth of the screen so you can grab the page to slide it around.
(3) A setting to lock zoom on page turns ~ your zoom setting stays where it is.
(4) If the top right corner is out of sight on Next Page, slide it to the top right corner of the display. And if the bottom left corner is out of sight on Previous Page, slide it to the bottom left corner of the display. That may not be exactly right, but its closer than leaving the page positioned for the END of the page when you START the next page, and the START of a page when you flip BACK to the previous one.
(5) WHENEVER part of the page is out of sight, lock the page edge to the screen edges ~ THERE IS NOTHING TO SEE on the grey screen, WHY BE SO EAGER TO SHOW IT? The Android CBZ reader app PerfectViewer gets this exactly right.
If zoom is locked, then having to slide the page around a bit to read it is not much nuisance ~ except the page turn buttons means that slides often turn into page turns. That's why the "no page turn zones" are needed. And there really isn't anything that needs to be done to SHOW people where the zones are because the ARROWS that pop up when you are in the page turn zones will TEACH people where the zones are!
But the fact that the reader is crap on a netbook, a 7" tablet or a smartphone discourages people from subscribing, which reduces the number of series that they can run in each issue.
Dang
I hope that the people from SJ read this stuff so they understand what their readers want.
To put it bluntly, "WE WANT MORE MANGA AND FASTER UPDATES SO WE DON'T HAVE TO RESORT TO RIP OFF SITES!!!" I'm just thinking here, but maybe they should follow Japan and also create a Monthly Jump like the old print version. That way they can serialize more mangas as they come out in Japan. So we readers don't have to wait for the graphic novel versions, which are often months behind their Japanese counterparts.
I'll agree with half the
I'll agree with half the statement: I WANT MORE MANGA!
:-)
But you know, Shonen Jump in print form was months to years out of date, so a 2 week delay is nothing. And the fact that they bring out a new issue every week is something that no company in the US has ever done before, as far as I know. Truly impressive. Trust me, I am not always a Viz cheerleader, but they have a vision right now that true fans of manga should be supporting, not ridiculing.
What i meant by faster was up
What i meant by faster was up to speed with the Japanese chapters. That's the only reason i read manga on the cheap sites is because they're up to speed with Japanese chapters. i wanna be able to read the manga as soon as it comes out, but unfortunately i can't read Japanese and i don't have access to Weekly Jump......
The SJ People do read this stuff!
And sometimes I even forward interesting threads on to my betters. This is the best and most direct form of feedback we can get, so keep it coming!

current best stuff
what if once naruto and bleach are gone, they started putting one shots from the Japanese magazine, or they could put the series with the most success at that time besides the ones they already have. what about D. Grayman?
there should definitely be
there should definitely be monthly manga series in shonen jump alpha, maybe all in the last issue of each month. i'd like to see one-shots from Japan in addition to the pilot chapters of Nura, Toriko, and Bakuman.
Katekyo Hitman Reborn! Please!
I would resubscribe to Alpha every single year of it's publication if Reborn was added. This series definitely deserves a run in Alpha. As long as the series is given 'proper' treatment (I'm looking at you ridiculous, shameful translations) it would unquestionably reel more fans in to Alpha.
soul eater
Soul Eater was run in Shonen Gangan so I'm pretty sure Jump dosen't own the rights to run it. As for Fairy Tail I don't know but I'm pretty sure that might have run in Gangan too.
There is always the posibility that a new great manga will show up because, while there are plenty of awesome manga out there ( ao no exorcist, Reborn!, ect.) new manga is always popping up and it takes some word of mouth to get it a good fan base, so runing an unheard of manga might be what we see happen next.
Soul Eater is published in
Soul Eater is published in Monthly Shonen Gangan by Square Enix, but it is released in the US by Yen Press.
Fairly Tail is published in Weekly Shonen Magazine by Kodansha and released in the US now by Kodansha USA.
Both of them would not be in Alpha. Only Shueisha's series are in WSJ Alpha, not even Shogakukan's series are or will be.
Thanks for the great answer
