No more physical issues

Forums:

If there are no more physical issues of Shonen Jump, I'm most likely boycotting them all together. I will not even watch ANY anime from VIZ.

I swear to Kami I won't read or watch anything that has anything to do with Shonen Jump.

If they want to go weekly, they should also give us the option of having physical issues. Be it either weekly or monthly.

YOU READING THIS MODERATORS?! I will go to another company, maybe even Kadokawa Comics by Yen Press! Heck I may even quit anime and manga all together!

Without the people Shonen Jump will go the way TokyoPop did in America. WITHOUT US THEY ARE NOTHING!

What say you? Do you agree with me?

It's better to have faster print volumes of manga almost simultaneous with Japan than to have 4-6 mainstream series in a puny magazine that barely breaks the 300 page mark. I was disappointed with the magazine and wouldn't have renewed my subscription even if Weekly SJ Alpha never happened.

With that said, I think Yen Press is the best manga publisher out there. They listen to fans, get lots of new series, and never cancel anything they license. Heck, they even hire fans to become manga artists through their talent searches!

I didn't know that about Yen Press...
I like HOTD and Haruhi a lot so they are on the top of my list now.

I just like having physical copies of magazines That way I can read them on the go without an electronic. Plus I was looking forward to having a stack of magazines my height. (6'8)

I personally prefer the physical copies since I like to read offline. Besides, I love to show off my collection. I've probably got pretty close to my height in magazines by now (although I'm not as tall as Kitsunetails8), and they don't take up disk space (only the space on my shelf).

I can understand that Viz wants to speed up series and the only way would be through a digital access; but we still have several other series that don't receive any recognition. Some series like D. Gray-Man and Hunter X Hunter will only have one volume released per year. If only Viz would publish another magazine similar to Akamaru Jump where several series could be published and readers could vote on what they want to read, plus the chance for readers to submit their own one shots similar to Jump competitions in Japan.

You are waaaaay too angry about this. I'm ticked off about it and probably won't re-subscribe to Alpha after my year is up. I have almost every issue of the magazine, with a two or three year gap. I have so many that storing them is difficult. I don't like the move because I can't keep adding to that collection. Seriously though, if you're so upset that you can't stand manga anymore, you don't -have- to do alpha. I think there's a refund option available. If not, just don't use it.

I dislike the idea of not having a physical magazine, I already read manga online for free, i use shonen jump as reading for on the bus or in the car, and now i have to read REAL books, and the only reason i care is that I don't know of any mangazines in the united states other than sj that will deliver to me, at this point I could even settle for shojo manga.

I definitely agree with you! I love the excitement of reading SJ in print. i don't like how they changed to only digital. I would be ok if they gave us a choice, maybe, between digital and print. I was about to subscribe when i found out they are going digital--that was when i didn't feel like subscribing. PLEASE BRING PRINT BACK SO I CAN ENJOY SJ TOO!

I'm really disappointing with them. I mean, Some people still do not have internet or computer access. Besides that, I want an actual physical copy. How do I own something that I am not able to hold in my hands? I think its stupid. We should be given an option. I probably will be boycotting viz.

I agree that while I do like the weekly I much rather prefer the print issues that have more mangas and that I can read offline

digital mags are garbage, Dragon died when D&D 4e came out because of the digi switch, and SJ is next
