Major disappointment that it started at chapter one, are we going top be 22 chapters behind Japan forever? Kinda defeats the whole simultaneous release thing you've been bragging on about for two months.
Especially since one piece, bleach, naruto's current issue had been out almost a week now in Japan.

It's actually irregularly released, so we'll catch up to them sometime later this year.

Thanks for the clarification.

Jump released in japan on 21st , you think it was out one week ago because the pirated versions get a copy of it before being release publically ( kinda like 5-6 days before ( I dont know how they get it , maybe soneone from printing press leaks them or maybe some shop) )

Submitted by asdjkl on Mon, 01/28/2013 - 21:36

are you serious bro, they just barely just got the simultaneous release down.
Secondly One Punch man isn't actually in Jump, so the only way you
could have read the chapter is by
the sc...
never mind

It's been a year and the problem I have has still not been resolved ( I cannot download the app from Google Play Store on my tablet).

Submitted by ichnob on Mon, 01/21/2013 - 13:54

What type of tablet? I don't think it's compatible with 10" tablets. 7" works for me (Nexus 7). Check the Play store to see if it is supposed to be compatible with all of your devices. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vizmanga.android

Submitted by tomahtashi on Mon, 01/21/2013 - 18:02

That's the thing, when I check the Play Store, it says not compatible or my device (or something like that). My tablet is 9.4", though, not 10".

I'm confused, I just signed up and I received the first issue with the colorful naruto on front, but as far as I can tell this had the chapters from last week. How exactly does the "same day as Japan" thing work?

Submitted by ichnob on Tue, 01/22/2013 - 19:06

There's a good explanation about it from Deb Aoki of Manga.About.com. In a nutshell, stolen copies from the publishing plant a week before circulation. You can read the Q&A here: http://manga.about.com/od/mangaeditorsinterviews/a/Interview-WeeklyShone...

For further explanation, I will put it in spoilers.

Spoiler: Highlight to view
Most manga creators are working on chapters 2-3 weeks ahead of what is published. Those finished chapters have to be processed at the magazine printing company over a week before the actual release date since they have to be printed and distributed all over Japan. The magazine itself is fairly cheap in Japan, because they want even kids to be able to afford it. So if a few completed magazines go missing or are "damaged and unsellable," Shueisha will eat the cost due to low cost of production. However, those missing magazines are actually taken from the facility to be uploaded online. Now, I don't know who takes the magazine, or which printing press they come from, or other small details. But it's been like this for a while. So if you really want to enjoy Weekly Shonen Jump to its fullest, wait those 5 days. Because Japan gets theirs on Monday, not Wednesday. And we're getting ours on Monday, too.

Sounds Awesome! Can't wait for more. Wish I could be on more, but my computers are slow and school keeps me busy. I am still here though!
Can't wait for more JUMP.
I can't find the forums though- where are they?

I hope SJA gets a wave of activity here... it starts to get boring with people almost never commenting. Where are the forums!?

I hope WSJ will add some more series from the Japanese WSJ. I personally would recommend these:

Shokugeki no Souma (Soma's Cooking)
Hungry Joker
Medaka Box
Shinmai Fukei Kiruko-san
Kuroko no Basket
Ansatsu Kyoushitsu

Maybe we could have a poll to decide any new series? Just a suggestion. I'm a big fan of WSJ both in English and in Japanese so I would really like some of the series that are currently only in Japanese to make their way to North American shores so other people can enjoy them without having to default to reading scanlations of these series. Anyway, great job and thank you for going simultaneous with Japan.

Just curious, when are we getting number 88?

You should talk about Halo 4 or either Elder Scrolls Skyrim. They are both really good games. So is Halo 3.

I still haven't gotten the Slifer card and I haven't gotten Shockmaster either. I really want those cards.
