Is anyone else upset that they've stopped translating these I mean I love SJ but it's stuff like this that really makes me want to just start reading scanlations only.

yeah, I really miss GinTama, I always looked forward to the new volume. I really hope they'll bring it back, I don't wanna read it online. :(

The sad thing is, apparently Gintama was actually making Viz money- it was selling well. They only stopped bringing it here because it was so hard to translate.

Viz, I don't mind if I have to pay more for it- give us more Gintama. I don't even mind if you pick back up at 24 and give us 3 in 1 volumes (24,25 and 26 in one.)

I think before these series are continued, there should be re-prints of past volumes that are out of stock everywhere. I think Gin Tama volume 2 was reprinted recently, but Reborn! volumes 2, 5, 12, and a few others are very hard to find.

Conventions, comic book stores and online are the best places to get them now =/

Viz should do a print on demand thing for older volumes and sell them in their store.

Reborn! is amazing. Gonna say that I'm really disappointed in Viz for cancelling the English release, because I would have bought it all. Heck, I shelled out almost $50 to get my hands on volume 12 (which Viz misleadingly states has 4 volumes still in stock even though it really is out of stock). Also gonna say that I wasn't happy with how silly some of the dialogue was in the US release (as opposed to the Australian release, which I've heard does not have a "HOLY HAT!" in sight.)

All in all, the series is great. The art style adapts to fit the direction the series is going. The shift from gag manga to mainstream battle manga was practically seamless. It's a joy to see the development of Tsuna and his Guardians (minus Hibari who serves as fangirl bait and a parody of all shonen badassery) from a ragtag bunch of kids to skilled fighters. And Amano is a fantastic artist. Her character designs are awesome and gosh darn it I love Longchamp's outfits. (Wish he would return...)

I know quite a few people who would be happy to buy the manga if Viz would bring the series back (myself being one of them.)
It just isn't fair to start a story arc and then not continue it (even though that arc lasted like 3 years)

Gintama I started off with right from the getgo and have immensely enjoyed it ever since; Reborn! I didn't actually get into until right before volume 16 was released--I found the first 7 volumes at a used bookstore and promptly bought the remainder of the series that I could. I'll be honest and say that I was so disappointed by their putting it on hiatus; I was happy when I heard that they would be subbing the anime of Reborn!, since I thought they were trying to renew interest in the series and continue it; their subbing translations and such were excellent and I enjoyed the series again; now I just wish they could carry on with at least the future arc in the manga....

With Gintama, I was bummed since it was cancelled literally right before one of the best story arcs in the manga (the one with Kagura's brother--the Yoshiwara arc, I think it's called?) And now the anime in Japan is coming to an end as well...so I pretty much have no choice but to resort to crappy scanlations that don't work half the time...

Still, I have faith that Viz will listen to fans--it worked for One Piece and Naruto, so who knows? So long as people actually buy and support the series and not just say they will, I think we'll be satisified eventually!

Also, just a heads up for other Gintama fans, the Gintama film is being released in the United States at the end of May, with both english and japanese audio tracks (it's getting dubbed), and on both DVD and Blu-ray by Sentai Films. Since this pretty much determines Gintama's future in the US, please support it like I will!
