We recently announced this on our Panel at NYCC, but in case you didn't hear—SJ Alpha will soon be published at the same time the Japanese Weekly Shonen Jump comes out! We've heard the feedback from the fans, and now we're doing something about it. And as if that wasn't enough good news, we're also planning on adding even more series to the lineup! We'll release more specific information in the near future. Keep checking the website!

Epicness
SJ Alpha just got more awesome!!!
Awesome! Now I can see it at
Awesome! Now I can see it at SJA instead of the wiki first! Bleach will come out in English at the same time! Also, When will this start happening? Will we catch up with Japan in a mega-packed issue of JUMP?
ANSWER ME BROWN/BAE! PLZ! BTW
ANSWER ME BROWN/BAE! PLZ! BTW how else will we be "Simultaneously" releasing anything with Japan?
Of course... they could just stop for two weeks...... ugh..... Not enough Manga that is good in JUMP...
Miss Barrage
Need more Bleach
Really? Another perverted manga? And it is a lacrosse manga? Gotta admit, it is good though.
WOW... A manga about food and another stupid use of GOD.....
Really, I can't say anything about one piece; it confuses me, and is unclear.
No clue about anything in Naruto, just seems cool.
Zexal, a monthly series? How is that justice to yugioh?
Nura, Blue Exorist, and Kenshin manga has just lost me, and is too infrequent.
I know that, over the course of a month, we have a lot of manga, but none of it is good anymore.
I loved Bakuman (the half of it I read,) and like the real-life manga.
But you can't beat violent sword fighting manga with a storyline like Bleach.
We need more WEEKLY manga.
Who agrees?
Just my opinion, TGM
Sorry
Sorry dude, they only have ZEXAL once a month in Japan.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Zone Needed for WSJA
Agreed. Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal should be in EVERY SINGLE ISSUE of WSJA. I subscribed only for the promos and the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga. If it wasn't for Yu-Gi-Oh!, I wouldn't have even subscribed to WSJA. If they can't give us the manga, at least give us some Yu-Gi-Oh! articles to keep us busy. We need this. Why go digital anyway? I liked print better.
Sweet! I can't wait!
Sweet! I can't wait!
YOSH!!!! Simultaneous release
YOSH!!!! Simultaneous release with Japan and more series being added!!! Now I love SJ Alpha more than ever!!! No more having to read the crummy fan translations now!!!
It's about time
Now please add some good series to the line up like Claymore, D Grayman, Assination Classroom, etc.
No no no, that would not work
No no no, that would not work. Those series are already too far for a "catch-up" to even work. We need "re-runs" of sorts: more old Bleach and Naruto. Haven't read really any Naruto, and it seems ok as a serious. Any ideas?
Are you being serious right
Are you being serious right now? They're not gonna do "re-runs". This isn't Nick-At-Nite, it's Jump. They're bringing in new series from Weekly Jump, maybe another one or 2 from SQ.
The whole magazine was started in the middle of each series, they'll do a "series thus far" spiel, release the graphic novels and bada bing, bada boom, we've got new series in our Jump. Not to mention simultaneous with Japan. I've been waiting on this for years
I know, that is why I said
I know, that is why I said "re-runs", not re-runs. All old manga is good, that is why I want to read it. Only watched the old Bleach, don't own old manga.
That's nice to hear
Now Viz just needs to bring back Reborn and Gin Tama. Also finish releasing Strawberry 100% and Bobobobo vols.
Bobobobo
Bobobobo
Funny and redicious anime series
What can they possibly add?!?!
I'm ECSTATIC over the idea that I can rely on the publisher over fansubs. What sorts of stories will you be adding?! I wouldn't float to any more new series, because they've got less stability than a longer serialization, but might there be more monthlies (like one in every issue each month?) or internet favorites like Medaka Box or even Sket Dance? Both of which, if I may add, I would and will buy...
Whoa!!!
WHOAAA!! That is soooo awesome! Shonen Jump Alpha just keeps getting better and better!!
Lose the "big three"
Personally, I think Naruto, One Piece and Bleach need to end really badly. Too many story arcs cheapens a series into a money making ploy, not art. We need more new manga, and Cross Manage is a step in the right direction. I love romantic comedy. But honestly, I don't know why the "big three" series are so popular. A story should have a finite beginning and end, where it all ties together. Death Note is the perfect example, minus the Near arc. Short and sweet. One Piece, Bleach, and Naruto are just a waste of magazine space to me now. They just go on and on, and the story arcs could be stand-alones and make just as much sense. Personally, I think that's not great writing. Of course I'm not the pro, so there's probably something the Mangaka know that I don't.
Sweet News
That's sweet news to all of us manga fans! Thanks for that big news viz and SJAlpha!
Skip Beat and Reborn
Bringing "Skip Beat!" and "Katekyo Hitman Reborn!" would be awesome.
Unfortunately
Skip Beat is not a Shonen jump title, it's serialized in Hana to Yume magazine and Hitman reborn has ended in Japan. Adding either of these titles, as good as they may be, would not fulfill the function of SJalpha which brings current running weekly issues of Shonen Jump (or monthly Jump Square) titles.
SKIP BEAT is not an SJ title.
SKIP BEAT is not an SJ title. Also, REBORN has finished in Japan.
The closer this becomes to
The closer this becomes to being a duplicate to the japanese weekly jump the better. I'm always hoping for more series and faster releases. The closer the better, and because of this advancement I have been convinced to subscribe today. It will need to keep up the good work to keep my subscription though.
Simultaneous Manga!
