REVIEW: This Week's ALPHA

Cover
art by Masashi Sato
Hey, a Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal cover! We don’t get too many of those. I’m not sure about the rest of the gang here, but I’ve really fallen in love with this manga! The world is interesting, the characters are funny, and I love the art. This is my favorite since the original. I really want to see a cosplay combo of Yuma and Astral! That would be quite a challenge!

Naruto
by Masashi Kishimoto
Action-packed chapter of Naruto starring Ten Tails! Ten Tails is about as amazing as you‘d imagine. It’s mind-boggling to think of the raw power of all the different Tailed Beasts in the same battle. Eight Tails, Nine Tails and Ten Tails! This is ninja history being made!

One Piece
by Eiichiro Oda
The mysteries of Punk Hazard and Caesar Clown’s diabolical plan are revealed. And it looks like Luffy and Caesar are finally gonna duke it out! This has been a long time coming!

Nisekoi: False Love
by Naoshi Komi
Get ready for hijinks! In a set of unusual circumstances that only seem to happen in manga, Raku has to get Chitoge’s body measurements! But how can he possibly get them without getting a punch in the nose? Luckily for him, the girls are having their physical exams that afternoon! While I’ve seen similar set-ups like this in manga before, mangaka Naoshi Komi’s high-energy art and comedic storytelling keeps the scenario feeling fresh.

Bleach
by Tite
 Kubo
The color art page of Squad Zero almost looks like an alternate cover! I know Squad Zero is controversial among fans, but I like them. Tite Kubo’s always had a comedic edge to his character designs, and these guys are perfect examples of that. Also, I’m a giant fan of comedically oversized pompadours. Beyond the design, Squad Zero is also pretty dang cool, as you’ll see in the chapter!

Cross Manage
by Kaito

Looks like managing the lacrosse team is getting out of hand for Sakurai! His hardcore training methods prove to be too much for some of the team members. Can he find a way to bring them back into the fold? Or is the dream over before it even started.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal
Original Concept by Kazuki Takahashi
Story by Shin Yoshida, Art by Naohito Miyoshi
Production Support: STUDIO DICE
As I’ve stated before, the art in this series rocks! If you don’t believe me, just look at the spread on pages 118–119, or the image below! This is how you make duels look exciting! The story’s pretty good here too as Yuma takes on the evil Eviluder in a duel to get revenge for his fallen comrade, Tetsuo. Revenge duel!

Naohito Miyoshi does the art for Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL, not Masashi Sato. He does the art for Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's.
