REVIEW: This Week's Issue!

art by Daisuke Ashihara
As we promised when we leveled up last month, we’re adding yet another new series! Introducing World Trigger! And what a snappy new cover to introduce the new series! Snappy!

World Trigger
by Daisuke Ashihara
Giant monsters called “Neighbors” have invaded the planet and regular weaponry is useless! Just when all seems lost, a strange group shows up and repels the monsters. Just who are these people, and how did they know about the Neighbors' technology? This manga is off to an interesting start! The SJ line-up needed a bit more mystery and science fiction, so this is perfect. Can’t wait to learn more!

One Piece
by Eiichiro Oda
Nice Doflamingo chapter! I have to say, I’m a big fan of his fashion! From his LA party shades to his incredible pimp jacket, this dude’s got style. Great chapter, too! Looks like the next arc is starting to take form.

One-Punch Man
story by ONE, art by Yusuke Murata
It seems the insanely overpowered and super-bored Saitama finally found someone strong enough the challenge him! A race of underground humanoids called the Subterraneans don’t dig the surface dwellers walking all over them, and they’ve decided to do something about it! Has Saitama finally found the fight he’s been craving?!

by Masashi Kishimoto
Epic chapter of Naruto! The First, Second, Third and Fourth Hokage chatting it up with Orochimaru and Sasuke! Lots of Uchiha history revealed as well as a scientific explanation of the Sharingan! I have a feeling the Naruto Wikipedia page is about to get a whole lot fatter today.

Dragon Ball
by Akira Toriyama
Another wondrous chapter of color Dragon Ball for your eyes to feast on! If you’ve ever wondered why manga isn’t in color, it’s because it would be too expensive to print! And it takes longer to create. And they crank this stuff out really, really fast. So this is a special treat indeed!

Cross Manage
by Kaito
Toyoguchi is thrilled the Lacrosse team is going to the finals, and it’s all because of Sakurai! She loves having him as a coach, but do the feelings run deeper?

by Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro
Mansom’s gone wild! He’s tough, buff and tearing up stuff! This whole chapter is filled with incredible cooking combat as the chefs make mincemeat of the attacking monsters! So far, it's looking like they have the fight well in hand. So far…

by Naoshi Komi
The saga of Chitoge’s distant mom continues! Raku is determined more than ever to get these two in the same room, but Chitoge’s mom just doesn’t seem to have the time. Or is there more behind her balking?

Sad announcement! There will be no One Piece next week! Gomen!

Hope you enjoyed the issue! Feel free to leave you comments below. We love comments! We eat them up!

I have a question regarding the translation in Nisekoi. The beginning line in it is "forever in love," (volume 1) however, the title of volume 2 is "Zawsze in love." "Zawsze" is a polish word or something like that. I was wondering if "zawsze" was going to be consistently used now. If I recall correctly, the opening line in Nisekoi in the Japanese version was "Zawsze in love."

It is now ZAWSZE.

Great issue this week.

World Trigger seems good, I liked the few twists it had, totally thought four eyes was going to be a generic side kick, and the twist at the end was unexpected.

One Piece was good, got to see the desperate side of Doflamingo, a guy who we never once seen as anything more than a " joker". Plus the return of Aokiji will be fun.

Naruto was better this week then it has been in a while, about time there were some laughs.

One Punch Man is hard to take seriously..

Nisekoi was alright..

Dragon Ball, Not excited it has retuned but I gotta admit it looks good in full color.

what about cross manage? I'm I the only one that likes it let alone reads it?

Submitted by WesKR on Tue, 02/12/2013 - 04:45

I wish I could read it, but I only have chapters 12 and up. This is why we need to be able to buy previous issues...

It's monday already and I haven't finished the fan art for Cross Manage, but here's what I got:

I didn't get to Sacchin, Seki, or Wakamoto. I guess for next week.

Also, this week's issue of Shonen Jump was spectacular. All these stories where top-notch.

Loved every aspect of this week's JUMP (you know, the parts I read- no Toriko or One Piece) - except there was no Bleach. Good news on there being no One Piece next week! If only they could cancel Toriko and replace it with full time Yugioh!

Submitted by EA575 on Mon, 02/11/2013 - 18:41

Whoa! Cancel Toriko?? I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon. Toriko is a very good series (especially including One Piece) and I highly recommen you read/watch them both!

Submitted by WesKR on Tue, 02/12/2013 - 04:51

You can't be serious.. Yu-Gi-Oh! is garbage.. Toriko is great (Although I'm not fully caught up yet) and One Piece is probably the best serious in this magazine..

Yeah, I know the One Piece thing is just an opinion, I know others probably like Naruto or Bleach more but the part about Yu-Gi-Oh! being garbage is fact.

Of course ZEXAL is- try 5DS.

Submitted by TechGenusMaster on Mon, 02/11/2013 - 19:31

I need to understand more of what their story is. The art is hard to follow and enjoy, but at least One Piece looks interesting. Food manga- you lost me. I know it is still violent, but I just can't enjoy it. One piece is ok, but I am starting from chapter 500-something. Need better explanation then the intro to every chapter.

Submitted by EA575 on Mon, 02/11/2013 - 22:09

Yeah, people have different opinions on Toriko, but you can't judge it without watching it or reading it first. One Piece does cram a lot of stuff each chapter but I guess that's why people love it. It's like a 30-page chapter in ~17 pages lol

i know that the anime is cancelled in japan after the new arc but is the manga gone from SJ i hope not it was getting really good. I've been a fan since i lived in Mexico and my first touch of anime was thru you guys so keep up the good work.

Submitted by yafada on Mon, 02/11/2013 - 20:58

No, it's not cancelled. It was just absent in this issue. There were no prior warnings because apparently Kubo got sick, or something like that.

Bleach will be back in the next issue, and it's a great chapter!
Submitted by TechGenusMaster on Wed, 02/13/2013 - 19:39

Yes! I hope we get to read it before the Bleach Wiki has their hands on it. The people there are snobs at times and are tight on their polices. I like SJA because I can (and everyone else) speculate things that might happen later on. Bleach Wiki just gets the chapter and posts a summary of it. Sorry if this sounds like rambling. I hope Unohana Vs. Zaraki comes to a nice conclusion.

Submitted by John Bae on Thu, 02/14/2013 - 13:30

I'm guessing you'll love the next one coming up. That fight is becoming my favorite one in Bleach.
Submitted by TechGenusMaster on Fri, 02/15/2013 - 05:06

Hopefully, we will see some Bankai action!

Submitted by TristanTsunami on Thu, 02/14/2013 - 12:27

Speaking of Bleach, does anyone have an idea as to if the anime will ever return? From what I understand it is on hiatus, will they bring it back as a new series for the final arc, or just make it into a few movies? (That was a rumor I heard.)

Submitted by John Bae on Thu, 02/14/2013 - 13:30

From what I understand, there is no more anime episodes planned.
Submitted by EA575 on Fri, 02/15/2013 - 00:28

That's what most of us are assuming (new series for the final arc like InuYasha), but nothing has been announced yet.
