CARDS: YU-GI-OH! Battle Pack

Most of the time when you get booster packs, you open them up, put the cards straight into your Deck or binder, and that’s it. It’s fun, but it’s such a brief experience that you barely have time to enjoy it before you rip open your next pack! But there’s a way that you can take the fun of opening packs and make it last all afternoon. It’s called Sealed Pack play, and the brand new Battle Pack: Epic Dawn is specially engineered for it!

How Sealed Pack Play Works

First, you need some friends. They don’t even need to be Duelists or have their own cards as long as you can teach them the basic rules. Next, split some Battle Packs evenly between yourself and your friends. One box has 36 packs, so if you grab three friends to play with you, each of you gets nine packs and it costs about as much as a trip to the movies. Then, each player opens their packs up and builds a Deck using the cards they opened.

Each Battle Pack has five cards, so you’ll have 45 cards total to work with. If you and all your friends are experienced Duelists, try playing with 30-card Decks. If not, try using 40 cards, or just play with everything you get.

I Have Serious Reservations...

Don’t! You may have tried this before with other booster packs and been less than thrilled with the results, but those packs weren’t specifically designed to be used this way. Battle Packs are. In fact, they’re designed to make sure that every player is on even footing by giving each of them the same types of tools to work with. Each Battle Pack contains:

ONE game-changing rare card with a glossy black or glossy white foil name: Your most powerful Spells, Traps, and Monsters (including Xyz Monsters).

THREE commons: one high-ATK monster for battling, one low-ATK monster with a useful effect and one card, usually a Spell or Trap, that can take out your opponent’s cards or change the tides of battle.

ONE wild card: This card can be any of the 220 total cards in the Battle Pack: Epic Dawn set, and it’ll look like nothing you’ve ever seen before! Your wild card will have a sparkling, dazzling pattern on it that you can’t find anywhere else!

Sealed Pack Play is a whole new way to Duel, and it’s a lot of fun. Give it a try when Battle Pack: Epic Dawn launches on 5/29!
