If given the choice between Obelisk the Tormentor or The Winged Dragon of Ra, I would choose Obelisk the Tormentor simply because of the following reasons: 1. It can be special summoned (when needed in a pinch or in order to quickly execute a strategy involving it), 2. It is immune to targeting unlike it's other DIVINE BEAST brethren, 3. It's effect requirements are more negotiable (as you can summon him and if you have at least one other monster on the field you can sacrifice that other monster and Obelisk itself for it's effect to destroy all opponents monsters [wheras with The Winged Dragon of Ra you can summon it and either pay all but 100 of your lifepoints to give it attack, leaving you unable to use it's other effect or you may summon it, leave it with 0/0 then use it's 1000 lifepoint destruction effect]) *note that before you use the latter strategy with Ra to destroy monters, you may wish to reconsider due to the abundance of other monster destruction effects in the game that come at a more managable price than paying 1000 lifepoits*, 4. If either Obelisk the Tormentor's and/or The Winged Dragon of Ra's effects are negated, at least Obelisk the Tormentor will still have some attack points, and 5. If Obelisk the Tormentor is removed from the field you lost nothing except the 3 monsters you used to tribute summon him (if you even tribute summoned him) wheras with The Winged Dragon of Ra, you would lose the 3 monsters you tributed to tribute summn him, most of your lifepoints, or at the very least a portion of your lifepoints are gone with it shoud you not give it any attack but used it's destruction effect.

Well, Since U Can't Use The Illegal Cards, U Have To Use The Legal 1's Which Only Have Immunity To Spells Traps And Effects Upon Summoning, So I Would Say Obelisk, But If We're Using The Illegal 1's, I'd Say Ra, Simply For The Fact That Ra Can Combine Its Tributed Monster's Attack/Defense Together, And Btw The Movie's Rules Don't Necessarily Mean That U Can Do That In The TCG, lol

Oh, about the Obelisk Blue rank being the highest rank in Yugion GX.....Kaiba started the Duelist Academy. Obelisk was the one god he got, so, of course he would view it as the strongest. Ra was Mariks, so, he would be "so so" on his feelings against it when Ra WAS the strongest in the anime. Slifer was Yugi's, and Yugi was Kaiba's HATED rival, so, despite the fact that it was said that Obelisk and Slifer were of equal strength in the anime, Kaiba, out of sheer ego, would see it as the weakest of the three, thus insulting it with the status of the weakest of the three dorms, Slifer Red. The movie is...sad to say....an insult to the show on the count of what they did to the gods in it, making them weaker then weak! I didn't even go to it at the theater. Someone working at the one nearest to me just gave me seven of the booster packs you could get by going to it for free and I got the four promos that way. I got it once it came out on DVD. I liked it, but felt it didn't stay true to the show when they made it so Obelisk gained infinite ATK and DEF by offering up Slifer and Ra to him. In truth, all that would happen is the attack where two monsters are offered up, your opponent's monsters are destroyed and 4000 damage is inflicted to their life points. The real world version of Ra is an INSULT to the one in the show! It was said to be invulnerable to Obelisk and Slifer, only being capable of being defeated in an attack from both, which Yugi managed. The reason for this is because of Ra's vast abilites in the show. His effects in the show are as follow: 1. He is uneffected by the effects of all Spells, Traps and Monster cards, including Obelisk and Slifer's effects. 2.Gains the sum total of the three monsters tributed to summon him. 3.By paying 1000 life points, he can destroy one card on the field and remove it from play. 4.By offering up any amount of your life points, save for the last 100, increase his ATK and DEF by that much more. 5.By sending all monsters on your side of the field except for Ra, increase his ATK and DEF by their sum total again! and 6. Is destroyed at the end of the turn if he was special summoned. Slifer's effects are pretty similar to the ones in the show, except that he retained his immunity to spell, trap and monster cards after the first turn.

One person on eBay fooled people to bid a crud-ton of money for what they think is Slifer, but in actuality, if you read at the description, is just a piece of paper with a list written down of the cards that would make a good Slifer deck. I swear, some sellers on eBay are just downright cruel, and some buyers are complete morons.

I agree, before all u had to do was drop in to any bookstore selling the print of the magazine and just give 5 bucks and blam, insta card! now im giving up nearly 30 for this subscription just for the card and I have yet to see a trace of it, i feel annoyed and wish they would go back into print to solve this I mean honestly

ive sent for two other items that were sent after the 27th and they both arrived in a week, and they were farther than were the cards are being shipped. i paid money for the online for this card and im not the only one, waiting is just an annoyance.
