I've been a subscriber to Jump for eight years now and it was a devistation when I heard of the cancelation of the print magazine. Although I think it's a great idea to go digital, I feel like the magazine could have had so much potential .
For example, everybody whose read Jump must have wanted to have their work published in the magazine; Jumpaholics like myself*(* No offense to anyone, I'm just pointing out the countlest hours Ive spent obsessing over this franchise) know of Akamaru Jump*(*Now known as Jump Next!), a seasonal magazine published allowing aspiring artists to be recruited and start their own series. If Viz were to bring this option to the West, there's the opportunity for fans to expirience the world of manga hands on. I'm about to go to college soon and my dream is to become a mangaka but I have no idea where to start. At least with this, there's some sort of assistance.
Along with Akamaru Jump, there are also other publications like V Jump and the beloved Jump SQ. V Jump features publications like every Yugioh series and game spin-offs while Jump SQ hosts several famous manga like D.Gray-Man and Ao No Exorcist, aka Blue Exorcist in the US, as well as sequels to some series like The Prince of Tennis. Sorry about that rant, what I'm trying to say is that along with fan made one shots, serials like the ones listed above can be included so we don't have to wait too long since some series are only released twice or even once a year.
Along with this, fans and readers alike should be able to vote on new series by reading several one-shots and choosing the best series to be published in the US next.
I actually sent this idea to Viz and they replied saying that they were interested with my idea as well as keeping it in mind. Maybe it's real, maybe it's just to shut me up; either way I just feel that Jump magazine is truly something even in print format. My name for the product was called "Jump Omega", mainly representing the crossover of Shusheia's several magazine publications allowing fans of weekly and monthly sertalizations to collide in a new publication.
Thanks for reading this, and maybe could I get some feedback or sugestions. Anyways please comment below and lets try to take Jump and manga publication to the next level, thanks for reading!

One last thing!
I also forgot to mention that along with bringing in Jump Sq titles, there could also be the possibility of publishing Hunter X Hunter due to the manga volume releases here being close to Japan. This way we can still read Hunter X Hunter but also not have to wait ages for the next volume.
1) The economy and the comics
1) The economy and the comics industry isn't in the best place right now. That's why the jump (no pun intended) to digital happened, in my opinion. Maybe when things get better, this can happen again.
2) If I may ask, where do you plan on attending? If you seriously want to get into manga/comics, I recommend to the highest degree SVA (School of Visual Arts) in New York City. Go for Cartooning (which is comics.) I'm about to graduate in a few days, and the four years I had at the school were tremendous. The teachers, for the most part, are amazing. Especially if you get the ones that are into manga. It's a really, really tough major, as all art majors are, but if you have the talent and really want to do it, go for it.
There are other schools that offer cartooning (comics,) one is SCAD in Savanna, Georgia, and I think there might only be 1 or 2 more in the US. I just want to be a helping hand if you'd like one, lol. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
3) We basically need this here. We're the ones paying for the products that we want, and I obviously assume Viz wants to be successful, so they should give us polls and hear us out about what he want.
4) The problem with Hunter X Hunter is that it constantly goes on hiatus. I doubt we're ever going to get it in SJA because of that =/ The least they can do is publish the volumes faster here, though. Pressure Viz! :)
You do bring up several good
You do bring up several good points, I was thinking with Hunter X Hunter we could continue at volume 28 since it wont be released until August. Thank you for the sugestion, I may check it out.
Creating Manga in the US
FrankyCenaur, could you perhaps tell me how your experience at SVA was, in terms of what the classes were like and if there were others who were interested in manga as well.? You don't have to if you don't want to, but I'm curious.
