FLIP is Hip
Battle Pack: Epic Dawn is loaded with monsters with FLIP Effects or effects that are similar to FLIP Effects. These tend to be extremely powerful and should always be in the back of your mind when you’re building your Deck or Dueling. If you suspect that your opponent has a FLIP Effect monster Set, your best bet is to attack it. By attacking your opponent’s monster, you force its effect to activate right away. Plus there's always the added incentive of destroying it, giving you the first chance to change the course of the Duel instead of your opponent and depriving them of a monster.
Know Thy Enemy
Unlike regular Dueling, there are only so many possibilities for what cards your opponent might have in Sealed Play. Once you learn all of the cards that are in Battle Pack: Epic Dawn, you’ll have a much better grasp on what monsters or Traps your opponent might have at any given time, which gives you an edge in battle. Spells are a little harder to predict. Because they’re usually held in the hand, there’s less information to go on when you’re trying to divine their identity.

banned list
I've noticed a number of the cards in epic dawn are currently banned, does this mean their legal again?
i dont think so
(note that im bad at spelling) just becuse thares banned cards in it don't mean there legal. still thote i'll still like to get them becuse there still great (like Dark Magician of Chaos).

Just follow the March limited/banned lists. Those cards like Graceful Charity and Pot of Greed are still banned, even though Konami had the sudden urge to reprint them for the heck of making the pack 200 cards big (the battle pack is also meant for fun play, so it could be that he just did that so beginners would use the banned cards and no one would forget them). I know cause my friend pulled Pot of Greed (black holo), but yeah, it's banned from play amongst us.
About the Banned List
I am pretty sure that even though they are banned that the shonen jump company still print them to sell in booster pack. Banned does not mean they are not permitted for sale.

I don't believe they would ever un ban certain cards. DMoC and certain others are to broken for modern era dueling. Why Do you think CED was banned?

chaos monsters like DMOC,CED,BLS among others were broken years ago and too many people reusing said abilities into loophole caused many cards to get banned.
