Why was the reader survey ignored for adding a new series to Alpha?

Why wasn't a series added to Alpha that we voted on in the survey? First Rurouni Kenshin and now Barrage. There are a couple really good currently running series in Jump that I want to see in Alpha, but now it appears Viz is totally ignoring the readers and adding whatever they want. Why even bother asking us if you didn't care what we wanted?!

I want to know why, because my friends refuse to read alpha until they get to read a new popular series in alpha

Guess I shouldn't be surprised my question ( along with the reader survey ) is being ignored by the people running Alpha.

First of all, the reader survey was never billed as a "pick the new series" like the Yu-Gi-Oh! poll. Secondly, it takes a while to collect that information.

Both Kenshin and Barrage were already selected before the survey even ended, so it's not like they were selected in spite of the survey results. For us, it's a matter of understanding what the fans want and trying to see if we can accomodate those wishes. Please understand that we try to do our best with what we have.

A lot of the older audience such as myself understands this and seriously, seriously appreciates everything you're doing for the fans. You guys are honestly the best. I think we're all thankful for the new series you've given us. It was risky, but Barrage is great, and you're doing the best thing in terms of building up a new series for people to enjoy while a series like Bleach can end at any second.

We still do want our GinTama, our Reborn, or GinTama, our Hunter X Hunter, and our GinTama, and I for one understand that it takes time. As long as you keep the good stuff coming. Thanks for the hard work.

Alright, but you have threads upon threads ( and I'm sure emails and Facebook post ) of people asking for popular weekly series like Gintama, Sket Dance, Hunter x Hunter, Hitman Reborn, and Medaka Box. Not to mention monthly series like D. Gray-Man and Ao no Exorcist. And instead of getting the series the readers have been asking for, Alpha decides to add an inferior version of Kenshin and a new manga no one asked for cause they were most likely simple solutions for you guys since they were just starting.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but the readers are paying for Alpha, we want to support the series and mangaka that we like. In Alpha's current form I'm only reading two of the six series and the only one I really care about is Bleach.

i'd also like to see blue exorcist and hunter x hunter on there as well, cause think about it look how thick a weekly jump in japan is yet we only have only a little bit bigger thatn what monthly shonen jump was before sjalpha
