Great news for Duelists—Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal is joining the SJ Alpha lineup! Holy hairstyles, this guy’s do is wild. I bet cosplayers are having a heck of a time figuring out how to get his hair right. Anyway, it’s nice to have a Yu-Gi-Oh! title back in the mag, it just doesn’t feel right without one.

Just a quick note, we're picking up this series midstream. Make sure you read the Story So Far in the Previously in... page so you know what's going on! Looks like we're just at the start of an epic Duel! As a lifelong nerd, I’ve always loved cool monsters. And that is one of my favorite things about Yu-Gi-Oh!—the monsters are really cool. And Zexal continues this tradition. The cat shark is the highlight of the chapter! Does it like water? Hate water? I’m also intrigued by Astral’s missing memory. What secrets lie buried in his mind! We’ll have to wait and find out!

Wowsers, this color spread is so nice! I’ve seen a lot of color spreads in my day, and this is one of the best! The water looks so inviting; I want to dive right in. And now that SJ is digital, these spreads are backlit and look better than ever. Also in this chapter, a super shocking secret is revealed!

The fight with Deadrock continues! I have to say, I'm enjoying Astro’s training so far. It’s different then most SJ manga training sequences, as he’s getting training on the fly during a live battle. It’s also cool to get inside the head of the trainer, Tiamat, and see his perspective on how the training’s going. Also, epic battle!

Wow, powerful chapter. I knew the “talk” between Itachi and Sasuke would be intense, but it went even further than I thought. I wish I could show this to manga naysayers, and say, “Look, this is the power of manga, this is storytelling. It’s not all boobs and cat ears!!!!”

by Tite Kubo
Bleach is getting intense! The battle between the Vandenreich and the Soul Society is still not going well for the Soul Reapers. Without being able to use their bankai, they’re at a severe disadvantage. Can Ichigo save everybody?

Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan
by Hiroshi Shiibashi
It’s the last chapter of Nura until September! All the pieces are in place for the big battle, but it looks like we’ll have to wait until September to see what happens. Have patience, Nura fans!
