Deeply Rooted!

Sometimes the best way to use Zefra monsters is to just put them in the Deck their monsters originally came from!

A few weeks back, you got a brief overview of the new Zefra monsters from Crossed Souls, Pendulum Monsters that belong to two different groups of monsters at the same time! While you can mix-and-match them in lots of different ways and combine many different strategies into one Deck, one of the easiest and strongest ways to use Zefra monsters is to just put them in the Deck their monsters originally came from!

Case in point, 'tellarknights! Before Satellarknight Zefrathuban and Stellarknight Zefraxciton, you had to rely on Spell and Trap Cards along with Xyz Monsters from your Extra Deck if you wanted to destroy any of your opponent’s cards without battling. When Zefrathuban or Zefraxciton is Normal, Flip or Pendulum Summoned, you get to target an opponent’s card (face-up for Zefrathuban/face-down for Zefraxciton) along with one of your "Zefra" or "'tellarknight" monsters or cards in your Pendulum Zone and destroy both! Without Stellarknight Zefraxciton, the biggest monster in your Main Deck was Satellarknight Rigel with 1900 ATK, but with an effect that would cause one of your monsters to self-destruct at the end of the turn. Zefraxciton fills the 1900 ATK role without exploding in the process.

The biggest benefit gained by the 'tellarknight Deck is the ability to Pendulum Summon! Other than Nekroz, there’s no Deck out of the five that make up the Zefra that searches out monsters to the hand better than 'tellarknights do! Oftentimes you'll wind up with more monsters in your hand than you can possibly Summon in a single turn, but if you have Satellarknight Zefrathuban and Stellarknight Zefraxciton, you can activate them in your Pendulum Zones and Summon all the 'tellarknights from your hand all at once! Not only does that make it easy to Summon your 'tellarknight Xyz Monsters and reuse all of your cards with Stellarknight Triverr, it also makes it fast and easy to get four or five Level 4 Warrior-Type monsters on the field at the same time so you can Summon Number 86: Rhongomyniad from World Superstars!

If you can get all five Xyz Materials on to Number 86: Rhongomyniad, you'll almost certainly win the Duel. First, you'll wipe out every card on your opponent's side of the field, and there's nothing your opponent can do to stop it unless they have a monster immune to destruction. And it must be immune, because monsters that simply Special Summon a replacement can't do so because of Rhongomyniad. Rhongomyniad will attack unopposed for 3000 because he can't be affected by any of your opponent's cards. Your opponent will then be stuck, unable to play any monsters for their next two turns while Rhongomyniad defeats them.

Oracle of Zefra also gives your 'tellarknight Deck even more searching and card-drawing abilities, making it extra simple to fill your Pendulum Zones and get even more copies of Zefrathuban and Zefraxciton to Pendulum Summon later on. You can experiment with all these new cards from Crossed Souls right now!
