If you’ve ever lost a Duel and said to yourself afterwards, “I totally would have won if it weren’t for THAT ONE MONSTER!” then Ghost Reaper & Winter Cherries might be for you! It essentially forbids your opponent from playing any single Fusion, Synchro or Xyz Monster as long as you’re willing to put a copy of that monster into your own Extra Deck!

Ghost Reaper & Winter Cherries has a lot in common with the wildly popular Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit. She’s a high-DEF Level 3 Tuner with a fantastic effect that you can activate from your hand. During either player’s turn, if your opponent controls more monsters than you do, you can discard Ghost Reaper & Winter Cherries and reveal one card in your Extra Deck. By doing so, you get to look at your opponent’s entire Extra Deck, revealing all of their potential options and then banishing every copy of the card you revealed from your own Extra Deck!

This is particularly useful against Synchro and Xyz Monsters because they need to come from the field, and every Synchro and Xyz Monster lists two or more monsters in its requirements. So even if you play a monster, your opponent will have to have control of more monsters than you do to access their Extra Deck, making it impossible to avoid the wrath of Ghost Reaper & Winter Cherries!

In matches where your opponent uses the same strategy as you, Ghost Reaper & Winter Cherries will turn the tide of the Duel if you draw it. Since you're both using the same key Extra Deck monsters, the Reaper makes it so that only you have access to the most crucial parts of your strategy. But you can also include a copy of an Extra Deck monster or two from a Deck that gives you trouble, or even put them in your Side Deck to access between Duels. For example, if Burning Abyss or Phantom Knight Decks give you a lot of trouble, you can add a copy of Dante, Traveler of the Burning Abyss to reveal with Ghost Reaper & Winter Cherries to drastically improve your chances against those Decks!
